I've been meaning to ask, how does Chinaman's look right now? For some reason, I've been itching a bit lately... :)

You guys (eric, brian) both run it recently?

Eric,

That is probably what it is for but nobody posts reports on trips taken. So i thought a section by itself would prompt people to do that.

Chinman's repairs are complete. New drive side axle and cv joint. New rear shocks. Broke my left rear upper shock mount trying to replace the shock but I have it rigged temporarly for now. It is drivable.

Brian, good to here. Oh by the way, My wife was OK with the minor damage, she said thats what it is for.

Chu, Yes we ran it the first weekend in December and I personaly thought it was pretty rough. No snow but a little at the water fall; less than a half inch and sparse. Brian and Sean said it had changed, I belive, for more difficult, from the last time they ran it but this was my first time so I don't know how it was before. I saw your pictures on EE of Carnage Canyon and Chinaman's seems like it would be right up your alley.
Brian posted in the trail section a week before or so. Next time I go on any trail I will email you.

What's with all of this damage at Chinaman's? Did they over-starch your shirts or again?

Luckly mine was limited to a few minor scratchs. Brian and Leonard did not fair as well though. They have the decked out rigs so they take crazy lines and break alot of stuff; to crazy for me.

Chinaman's was a good trail. Not really, really diffucult but enouph to get my ass all puckered. I have pictures but they don't show the obstacles very well.

Eric,

I tipped the disco on it's side yesterday in a vally. I havn't seen pictures yet but the truck came out almost unscathed. Didn't even break the mirror. New scratches on the drivers side. Yesterday was a bit rougher than chinaman's but no breakage at all.

It wasn't chinman's that caused all the trouble. it was the trails before chinamans.

iron chest 3 times
holy cross 2 times
chinaman's 3 +
carnage canyon 3 times
hackett gultch, long water, metberry countless
red cone 3 times
tin cup
minesweeper...attemted
lots I have forgotten...I have been on the trail more than 40 times this year. I have replaced most of my drive line due to breakage. I had done a couple of trips without incident. Chinaman's was the last straw for the front diff and cv.

John,

I didn't roll at chinaman's. I was at carnage on sunday also but we came down form one of the network trails and ran carnage from the top down. Very Very icy. It was about 4:00pm when we started carnage so it was very dark before we finished the trail.

I tipped it on its side on on that network trail. We came across a large runoff vally and I tried to straddle it. It really wasn't that bad, the side of the vally kept me from going all the way over and I still had two tires on the ground. I put it in revers and it righted itself. Big scratch on the drive side but thats about it. It was a good trip.

John,

I usually post before I take a trip and I am usually on the tail on sundays and wed. and I am always looking for more people to wheel with.

If it was the waterfall/creek bed underneath where the trail was washed out, a jeep bent a tie rod on that obstacle sunday going up. we had to back out there as it was 1:30 and my son hadn't had lunch.
