Just got back from being out of the country and this new BBs thing is really cool but, do we need to log in some how, or does it happen when you post? Also I see a log out link, so I take it we need to log out. What happens if we close out with out loging out? does it bog down the server? Some times you just have to speel things out for us old farts when it comes to Computor & internet stuff. Gabe | ||

When you log in, the board send your browser a cookie with your user id. This way, your computer remebers your id and password, and you don't have to log in again the next time you visit. There is an option on your profile where you can select if you want to clear the cookie when you close your browser. If you set it to clear, you will have to log back in the next time you turn on your computer and visit the board. If you leave it, it will be permanent. The cookie is not used for anything other than remembering your id and password, we don't keep track of which pages you visit or anything like that. Any information you put on your profile is not used for anything other than board management, either. We don't maintain a mailing list, and we don't give information to third parties. You will never see spam or junk mail coming from DiscoWeb, as we do not belive in that crap. Ad banners here for our own products in the DiscoWeb store is the only exception. You will see them here and there on the site, but they will never be emailed to you. Axel  | ||

Ok all that is great but, like I said, you really have to spell it out. When I leave the board, should I click log out? And yes, I don't need to put my name and password in each time. that was cool. So if I select to activate the cookies, I won't have to log on next visit. Is that what you mean? Old Fart | ||

Yes, if the cookies are activated, you don't need to log on the next time you visit. And No, you don't have to click "Log Out" when you leave the board, regardless of whether you have the cookie activated or not. Axel | ||
