5{ving along, especially going downhill, and let off the gas I get this intermittant shaking under the car. There is also a rather loud noise associated with it. When i hit the gas it goes away. Any ideas?
Thanks
p.s. It's an 1988 Range Rover

Is it coming from the rear? Could be the ball joints on the rear A-arm link being worn out, maybe bushings. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge with vibrations will chime in.

If it helps in narrowing it down, i had it on the highway today and the vibration doesn't seem to happen at higher speeds. Yet, it's becoming more and more noticeable at lower speeds, on a rover that means something is going to break real soon and leave me stranded.

Stephan, have you checked your u-joints? Be careful 'cause if you break one at high speeds the driveshaft can cause lots of damage. Make sure they are greased often.

Good luck.

John
