I had the Traxxas EMAXX, and same as you Dave searched and searched for any 1/10th body Rover to put on it. Never had any luck, ended up with the Hummer body which was pretty damn rigid and could handle the abuse I threw at it.. oh well, cool videos.. later.. RS

I run 1/5 scale cars. Is thier anybody else on this board that does. They are quite unreal very large scale. about 36" long and 16" wide weighs over 28 pounds and easily exceeds 50 mphs. quite a blast.

Post a pick Ken,

I have had my 1/10 scale HPI at 50+ MPH. But I am not sure about my Ofna Pirate Monster 1/10, it has a 2.2 hp nitro motor but I think the single speed transmission is holding it back.

1/10 is already draining the wallet quick, I could not imagine how much motors and parts are for a 1/5 scale.

how do I post let me know and I will. It has a 22cc 3-4 hp and like you say the limiting factor is the trans. They make a 2 speed trans and then it eaisly gets up over 100 mph. I will try and take a pic. of it next to somting so you can really see the scale.

Dave here are a couple of pics. The body on it I just started to paint so it is still masked off. It is a Mercedes CLK when finished it should look preety cool. The first pic shows the engine and carb. It has a K&N motorcycle air filter. and the last pic shows the brakes. It has 4 wheel disc brakes with actuall break pads and cross drilled rotors. Runs off regular gas and 2 stroke oil.

Uh, why's the "Land Rover" tag trim upside down on your front tag?

:)

Good question. When it was right side up the bottom of the fram is straight across unlike the top which has the contour to it. Notice how it leaves enough space for the I and the V. When you flip it the right way it covers the bottom of the letters and everybody asked me what TRISH NV was. so I flipped it over and problem solved. I have no frame in the rear.

Since someone opened the subject of RC above, is anyone into helo's or airplanes? I used to have a nice R/C helo setup a few years back, and have thought about getting back into some sort of play toy, but haven't done any real research into what changes or improvements there have been in the last 8 years, and if there are any clubs in the PA area.

Damn,

That is bad ass!!! I assume it is 4 stroke? Who makes it?

Actually it is 2 stroke. Mine is made by a company called H.A.R.M. but there are a couple of others. If you are considering at all getting into it let me know as they are hard to find and even harder finding parts for.

I am very tempted, but the ones I already have drain my wallet fast enough. I am supprised that its a 2 stroke, most of the larger RC motors I have seen have been 4 stroke, it sure does make my .21 look sooo small.

Check this site out... www.hpiracing.com... click English under HPI Europe and then check out the bodies they have,,, 7161 is a cross between the hummer and the jeep liberty in my opinion. No rover body styles though :( but I thought you guys would get a kick out of this site...
