A typical household fuse that's rated at 240V / 20A - is that still rated at 20 amps at regular 110V?

Those in Radio Shack are all rated 240V. I assume only the current is important, but not sure.

Thanks for any input

Dean

Fuse rating is good for that voltage and below. The reason is that on a lower voltage rated fuse, when the fuse blows the distance between the remaining pieces may allow an arc to continue conducting electricity thru the now blown fuse. Standard households are wired for 240 volts on a phase to phase basis, with 120 volts being from phase to neutral/ground. I hope that this answers your question.

I honestly wish that I had the time to sample more whisky than work. But that is not the case. I had some nice single malt from the nearby military exchange, it was McClelland's. McClellands has 6 varities: Islay, Lowland, Speyside, Highland, Highland Sherry Finished 12 year and Hghland 16. The base carries the first four. I love the Islay, the wife prefers the Lowland. McClellands is not a single distillery, but I would guess that they own four seperate distilleries, one in each region. Being a CB, I can really appreciate the price on the base as well. I have not had any of the Edradour, but the write up in Jim Murray's book sounded very nice.

One of the better single malts I have had, was 12 year old Higland Park from the Orkney Islands. Very nice and smooth.
