I rarely see these ECR modified trucks for sale, so I thought I'd mention it in case anyone is looking.

Quite a coincidence actually. I was just reading through some of ECR's Range Rover projects, and then came across this on eBay.

3 days left and it's only up to $6k! If I had some disposable income, I'd be all over it. You couldn't get the ENGINE alone that cheap.

Here's the ECR pages.

It started at $6k, it has no bids....

Thing is, that's what it's worth... it doesn't have the original engine... even if ECR did it, (don't misunderstand me, I'm not knocking Mike's work at all), it's still an older Rangie with a non-stock motor.

IMHO, FWIW, YMMV....

Versus what Lesie - a old RR with an original engine with many miles?? Think its worth more with a new engine myself.

An older Rangie w/ a 4.6 is not really the same as say an older rangie w/ a chevy350 . Non stock isn't always apples to apples .Comparing a 3.9 to a 4.6 are more like Florida oranges and California oranges ,some parts are interchangeable one just tastes better .6k+ is not unrealistic for a rust free mechanically sound RR . At least it could still be serviced by anyone familliar w/ Rovers .

I don't know. Up here in Vermont, a clean, rust free, Classic Rangie is a $4k+ proposition anyway. Add in the new(ish), bigger Rover engine and I think it's certainly worth $6k.

Also, it's not exaclty a backyard swap. ECR is about as high-end and professional as you can get.

btw... 5 hours left and it's stil at the original $6k bid.

Oh, I agree that a new Rover engine didn't hurt the price, and may marginally help, but it's not like you're going to take a $5k vehicle, add a $5k engine, and get $10k for it....

Like I said, it's worth about $6k... it'd be a good trail truck I'm sure, or even a secondary daily driver, if you don't mind RRC upkeep....

IMHO, FWIW, YMMV......

consider whats for sale & where.
I'm with Les;
how was it treated after the swap?
a banzi buggy may be worht 5k in parts
& even less if it's been beat!
new aint better!
just more stuff to break.
