You said seriously....

During Desert Shield/Storm we would put 2 of these buggy's in the back of my Helo and drop them off in the middle of the night in BFE. Then a couple of weeks later we go go back out and pick them up and bring them back to the ship. These buggy's were armed to the teeth with all kinds of weaponry and loaded with food and and shelter gear. These guys were completely self supportative and always came back out of ammo.

Making shit happen.....

I use the term XTRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMEEEEE (notice the lack of an "E" at the beginning) as a negative term. I generally think of it as involving mullets, pick up trucks with 44s preferably with confederate flags painted on them (though one of the vanity license plates will work as well), lots of mud and trail destruction, and more beer than recovery gear.

AINT SKEERED:

yeah, I've heard of liquid courage but it seems more like "liquid-lets-go-kill-our-asses-in-the-woods" to me.

Oh yeah, the collective number of brain cells in any group of XTTTTTTTTTRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE wheelers should average out to no more than 16 per bubba, it is preferred that this be due to massive inbreeding but should one be unfortunate enough to have a fork in their family tree these excess brain cells can be drunk away at the honky-tonk.

EXTREEEME would be the look on Greg's face if he's forced to sit in the cab with me during wheeling expedition/escapade for over an hour ... (whether he's driving or I am ....)

Kim
... sometimes I get skeered

extreme is when someone almost dies

Well Ron, you never know, Greg's blood pressure could get real high .... :(

Seriously, I've known and seen death/near death. So, um yeah, guess that is extreme. Most of it had to do with age and carelessness Seeing/knowing any is too much, but just quickly counting I knew 3 youngsters that are are no more (not in the same occurrence either), and 1 friend who is paralyzed from the waist down.

After Paul's description anything else seems kind of lame.

To me, seriously, extreme is the following scenario. You have driven to the trail head, and are a long ways in. The the trail is tough enough that despite all your skills and best judgement you aren't sure you will either make it out or get the truck (or your self) back home in one piece once you do.

I guess that distills to genuine risk not brought on by rash action but by reality of situation.

I suppose Ron said the same thing, funny he only needed 6 words.

That's okay, Eric, (hehe, funny, I tend to take up a little more space myself :))

Well, to me, EXTEEEME is to see who reacts and how, when the s*#t really hits the fan ... (reference: Greg's face when he has to stay in the cab with me too long, HAHA)

Kim :)

Not that I would know cause I wasn't there but, I have heard enough of it to get a pretty good idea about it. Extreeeeeme to me would be landing on the beach on D-Day.. That had to be some extreeeeeme action there. I don't think pictures are needed. Or finding yourself in the middle of a mine field and someone starts shooting at you.

a mud slide in equador picked up a school bus that my brother and sister were riding in and carried them a couple thousand feet down a steep slope rolling the bus twice on the way.

they both said it felt pretty extreeme

Let's be trend-setters and choose the next X.

Do you think Q could be the next X? Things could be QUUUUUUL or just plain "Q".

I think my suggestion's pretty darn Q, in fact...

I've seen the media call those folks jumping off of a side of a rocky cliff on skiis as "extreme skiers". Now, if a person in a Disco were to try the same thing, I'm sure they too can be classified as XXXXTREEEEEEEME! :)

Kim, are you the type that likes to start sreaming when something happens? The rest of my family does that whenever any one of em' rides shotgun. It sure scares the heck out of me and then they start freakin' me out. Thus, I screw up and make them freak out, then right back to me :).

I was watching a D-90 climb a hill with a nice woman driving and her three girls in the back. Now they were screaming so loud I could hear them from the next ridge over!

On the subject of extreme, it would extreme only if you had some heavy metal music crankin' and you where driving one of those crazy rock buggies. I was watching a video clip of those tricked out CJ that went up the most impossible rock face I have ever seen. I do not think my 109 could follow :):):).

Max T.
I don't follow rock buggies :). And I couldn't even if I did!

Nope, not anymore. This was almost a year ago. Sorry. Of course I'm sure there are plenty of clips with white D-90 station wagons climbing hills...

BTW, it is screaming... not sreaming. I spent way to much time in the sun today....

Chech out "Body damage on the stream bed"

Being from New England, I consider slippery rocks and boulders, and hidden mud and roots under a layer of leaves pretty extreem. Just my opinion :-) Rock sliders and underbelly protection is mandatory!!!!

I keep waiting for Ho to drop back in on this one.

Let's hear it Ho, what is extreme to you?

I am a little dense sometimes, so I havn't figured out if we are defining extreme or Xtreeeeme.

ho,

to answer your original question -
i'd say 28 trucks on Holcomb Creek in the middle of the night is pretty damn extreme. extremely difficult not to fall asleep.

i could come up with a list of extreeeeeme events - moab in easter week, rubicon on the 4th of july, big bear forest fest, rover rendezvous, you name it :)

OTOH, we haven't gotten to the xtremity of the sticks' thing yet. land rover magazines make me laugh thru tears...
