I am going to be looking at a 1990 RR county on monday. I have a disco so I am familiar with Land Rovers. I was wondering what you RR guys would check for. The owner is extremely wealthy, he has a 90, a 98, and a 99. I am sure he has done all the required maintenace, just not sure what the weak points of this model are. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Just tell me like you would check it. By the way I haven't seen it yet, but he only wants $3000 for it, and that is why I am so interested. thanks |

I have a 88RRC. What part of the country do you live in? If in the NE or anywhere with snow, be sure to check the sills, wheel wells and rear chassis for rust. Another typical rust area is under the floor mats. Check the power steering pump for leaks, if not leaking it maybe empty.
I would also unscrew the flame trap or aleast look in the oil filler opening for crud.
