Kinda' late, but I'll ask anyway. The passenger side head came off real easy, but the drivers side won't budge. Something to so with the PS bracket? How in hell so you get that off? Its pinned to the front of the head and a stud comes up thru the bracket on the manifold side. Don't see anything in the manual about it. Or did I overlook some fine print somewhere? Thanks for any help, eric |

I just did a head job on my 88RRC, 3.5L, Bolt #8 (tightening sequence, or middle row bolt on far left) also held on the alternator bracket. That bolt had a stud on top. I ended up having to remove the alternator and unbolting the PS pump from the head to get it out. Also on mine there were some grounding straps as that had to be removed near the fire wall. Hang on, you've almost got it out! Unlucky me, I sheared a head bolt on that side! Later on, it came out with resulting to an EZ out. Let me know what happens. That's a hell of a job. -John |

Looks like there is a hex head under the bracket, but there's no ffff#*&N room to get a wrench under the bracket. double nut the stud? |

By the way what year is your rig? Mine 88rrc, 3.5L with regular belts. I just looked at mine. The Alt bracket is bolted to the head in three places. A double stud bolt on the head. (#8 as mentioned before) A bolt on the front of the head near the valley, and a third bolt that is screwed in with a flat head screw driver in the middle of the bracket. The PS pump is bolted to the head in one place. I would suggest completly removing the alt and PS pump to get the head out. It was late when I did mine, but that's what it took to get it out. Have anther beer and keep going. -John |
