I've returned home this evening from a wonderful long weekend outside of Boston. I was in a town called Natick just west of there. What struck me as odd was the number of Defenders I saw while up there. Of course there were Discos all over the place. I mean, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Starbucks so I guess it stands to reason. :-)

In the area I live in, I have seen 2 Defenders since I moved here 10 years ago. Neither of which was registered here. So while in Natick, I saw 2 on the road and 3 in some random used car lot. I guess they are more popular up North? It shouldn't be a money thing because the area I live in pretty much blows the average household income away (except for me of course ;-P)

Anyway, if you live in that area or nearby and are shopping for a D90, I figured I'd pass on some info I reconed of this place and its wares. I would venture that if you don't live in the area, you wouldn't know of its existence but who knows. They have no website or even an email address for contact.

The place is called Classic Auto Sales and is located on 135 just West of Speen Street, on the other side of a CVS. Phone number is 508-651-3300.

They had 3 D-90's, 1 yellow and 1 green soft-top, and the green hard SW shown below. They also had 8 or 10 Discos on the lot and one newer Rangie. Since I spied the place yesterday and being Sunday and they were closed, I didn't get to do a test drive (I was looking at the 95 SW below). I did take of the advantage of being able to peek at it unhasseled from underneath and it looked like it was in pretty good shape. I did manage to call this morning and find out that they were asking $25,000. I don't know if this is anywhere near reasonable but just thought I'd pass the info along.

I have more pics of this one and a pic of the yellow one if you really want to see them.

I met this guy at MAR (can't remember his name) who had a nice yellow D90 who was from Mass and he knows that area well. He said there are a ton-o-D90s up there cuz all the bigdogs like to cruise around in them in the summer time.

I'll concur on that. I live just outside of Natick. Steve, their are also a couple other reasons you saw so many in that area, other than that their is a lot of big money in the surrounding burb's. LR MetroWest is in Natick, as is Classic Auto, who regularly sells D90's on Ebay mostly. Their is also another Rover garage next door in Holliston, owned by Alan Elliot (Cityside Garage), who is the most reputable and honest rover mechanic around.

Then you have places like Copley Motors..etc. They have a nice invenotry as well.

Also, Natick is a shopping Mecca for the people in the burb's (Route 9), so your seeing a lot of Mall Crawlers...

But yes, their are more Rover's there than most places. Although not as many as on Nantucket, and up in Burlington, VT. I was up there last weekend. Almost rear ended someone as I wasn't paying attention, gawking at a few Series driving by...
