Replaced the batteries,(one button remote) then my alarm-when arming-would flash the outside lites one 'long' flash rather than the 3 'short' flash, as before. There is a SECRET, found in ahem... the owners manual. This is for a MY 95 RRC-should be similar for D1. The 'one' flash indicates all is not quite well....although one 'short' flash means the alarm is deactivated/off. Reprogramming just upon new batteries is unecessary, it turns out. Process: (away from vehicle totally fine) Remove batteries. Clip the 2 pieces back together, no batts. Press/hold down the button count to 7 (min.5 secs) Open and replace batteries. It now works, and magically, the 3 flashes are functioning. YES! Not rocket science, but I felt so clever gettin' it to work right. When all else fails, read the owners manual, at least on this one.
