Are the trails that were ran public or private? I took the "guided tour" and enjoyed the scenes. I'm interested in making another run. I would like directions to the guided tour run as I don't have the map and my gps was on vacation that day. Thanks for any help.

the place you went(at least the place i THINK you went) is public....i will find my directions for you ASAP too.
there are several more little trails back in there, and several very nice camp sites. I believe they are just public sites...i have gone up there with a few friends several times with no problem getting a plcae to camp.

the other places(dirt cellar and Larkins place are private

Larkin's Place is, well, Larkin's place so you may want to check him out first. Scott Copeland knows the full story on access. Dirt Cellar is public.

Isn't Dirt Cellar for more of an armored truck?

ron, do you know if larkins usually lets guys use the trails if we call him up in advance?

by armored truck, do you mean more of a modified truck? if so, there are trails for stock as well as very modified trucks.

Dirt cellar is private. All of the trails this year except for Pidgeon Mountain and Little River Canyon are private property. Mike Larkin usually will let a group of people ride his place if it is convenient for him to be there. Dirt Cellar is leased as a private hunting club. They may let a few people ride there. E-mail me and I will let you know how to get in touch with Scott.

Jack,

Why don't you join Solaros? This weekend I am up for a ride so I am going to email everyone to see if anyone is interested. I like it and have found it very helpful with rides for all levels of difficulty.

If I remember correctly, there was a vote to make the dues "due" in Janurary instead of September or October making the dues run Jan-Dec. Along with a busy schedule and holiday season upcoming, I thought it wiser to join in Janurary. I hope that makes sense. I know, I didn't have to pay to attend the meeting but I don't want to be a mooch.

Jack,

You are correct. Dues are now due in January. Anyone who joins now will be paying dues through December 2003 but will only be charged for next year's dues. Basically, if you join now your $40 dues will take you through December 2003. I hear you on holiday season though. If you need to wait until January to join because of the holiday season I completely understand. I was just wondering if there were concerns or reservations about joining or if there were any questions regarding the club I could answer for you.

I had emailed you awhile back to your Bellsouth email address but never heard back from you.

Even if you dont join until January please come to the meetings. Everyone would be glad to have you. In the one year I have been a member there have been quite a few young professionals join.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

I have been trying to get in touch with anyone in SOLAROS for a while. I live in Savannah and would like to join in as many trail rides (with anyone, solaros or not) as I can. What is the scoop on the ride on 16 NOV at Rich Mnt? Thanks
