It has not come in yet. I was told it was in execlent condition. Price should be somewhere in the 16-17k range. I guess it has dual A/C, dual sunroofs, and I think it has the jumper seats in the back. Just looking for general comments (pros/cons) on the 2000 model year. Thanks |

Well, I have 2000, and it's been great. Just make sure that the recalls have been done (valves, radiator, AC drain lines, SLABS unit, throttle cable, idler pulley). Especially good if you plan to use it offroad alot as it has the CDL stud on the t-case. MIne doesn't have the roofs, rear air, or jump seats, so I can't comment on them. The HK sound system is pretty nice too. Price seems inline. Just make sure that it's been serviced properly. What will be your intended purpose for this? If it's strictly on-road, then there are probably some better options out there for you. But if you plan on using it off road, then you're looking at the right vehicle. Of course, all of the above information is only my opinion and should be regarded as such. |

I'm also in the market and have been looking at 1999 and 2000 d2's. Is there somewhere I can get information on the recalls. I heard about the AC lines, throttle cable and idler pulley recalls, but not the others. What was the problem with the valves? Is this the same as the rocker arm problem? TIA -John |

The tolerances on the exhaust valvers were too close, causing the valves to stick if there was any carbon buildup. Dealer fixed mine in a day. Wasn't specific to all vehicles, just the ones that suffered the stuck valves. The syptom is a Check Engine(or Service Engine Soon-can't remember which) Light. The dealer then read the codes, which alerted them to the sticking valve(s). I'd say go to your local dealer and ask for the bulletins. If they think you may buy from them the'll probably cooperate. |

Greg: Do you know what the codes are that alerted them? Was the engine running differently when this was occuring? -Mike |

Mike, no noticable difference to me. I had just had it serviced about a week prior, so I thought it really strange that the light came on, so I took it by. Within 5 min they had it diagnosed, but I don't know what the code was. Sorry. |

Did you get your flourescent receipt/work order? Is so, the code would be listed there I think. My dealer always lists the codes on the work order. Of course, it's always P0734. I guess some dealers may not list the codes. |
