Well, its been almost a month now since MAR 2k2 and I'd thought I'd post a few thoughts from a newbies point of view:

I did ALL of the trails with zero body damage. I credit this to an excellent spotter vehicle (Thanks Joe!) and patience. I think it really helped that I did all the red trails late friday night/early saturday morning BEFORE they were dug out.

Good AT or MT tires are a MUST if you are at all serious about wheeling. My new BFG TracEdges were AWESOME.

I had wanted to get some diff guards and HD cross/track rods before the event but I ran out of time and money. Now I think the first protection I need is a gas tank skid. The arse end of my truck took a beating! Any good suggestions?

I wasn't able to find any Jate rings so I got really lucky that I didn't get stuck since I had no front recovery points. I almost bought a set of those nice TerrainMaster jacking/recovery plates for $75 each but AB was unable to process credit cards. :(

A pintle hook sticks out waaay to far. Get a warn instead.

Good people, good trucks, and good trails make for a great weekend!

Hey Eric:

Where'd you get the Trac Edges? I want some as I use my RRC for highway and offroad, but don't want the hassle of two sets of tires/wheels.

I have Terrain Master sliders and a bumper. They're good. The folks were very helpful and I paid way less to ship them from England. The parts were a bit 'dinged up' but, hey, thats what they're for!!

Andy, I got really lucky with the TracEdges ... they were returned with 200 miles on them and had been sitting in the tire shops store room for the last 8 months. I got them for $50 each! So ask the sale person what they have hiding in the back!

Thanks for the info on importing Terrrain MAster goods.
