I'm looking for some aftermarket headers for a 1988 4.6 range rover. Anyone know of some companies besides RPI? I seem to be having some trouble finding companies in america. Thanks

Doubt that you will find headers in the USA. It's against the law to remove catalytic converters here. Many european RRCs don't have cats, so it is easier to get exhaust headers there. You'll have to order from the UK.

I'm not sure if they would have them, but why don't you try calling the hot rod house, Summit Racing. You never know. Maybe they can help. 1-800-230-3030.

Their website is www.summitracing.com. It is difficult to find LR parts though. Much easier if you own a chevy...

By the way, why do you want aftermarket headers? Performance, Price, Availability?

Doesn't Hedman (sp?) Headers sell headers for Range Rovers? I seem to recall a pair up for aucton on eBay. Do a search on Google. I'm curious, do you really have a 4.6 in a 1988 RRC or is that a typo?

Any header for a 215 buick will bolt up. You will need to modify the flanges of your y pipe. 350.00 if I remember correctly. Unless you go "catless"
though, you may not see much difference. The ports are very restricted on the heads.

My truck has a host of mods to it already but i'm trying to fix up some of the old parts so that it stops breaking down on me. Currently mods:
arb front/rear lockers
arb front/rear bumpers
all the under armor
warn 8000 (needs a 12000)
it does have a 4.6 under the hood
3 inches lift in the suspension
2 inches in the body
265/80 swampers
and yellow paint job with a black out hood (some love it or hate it)
rovertym sterring rods
but when the engine was changed only the block was changed and not the compnents. So i have a nice working engine but everything else breaks. altenator, heaters, ac, rough idle, coil, radiator, rust is on everything etc. I know it's a rover.
I"m going to throw some cash into it (been saving up) and i'm trying to figure out what i'm going to work on. Currently i'm thinking offset trailing arms, resevoir shocks, 24 splines, double cardon shaft, suspension spacers, snorkel, rack but i need to fix some of the old parts that i know are going to break. The electrical system isn't great, the heater blows, one speed on my wipers works, i'm sure u all know what goes wrong, little annoying shit. So i wanted to upgrade the engine parts so she's reliable. What does everyone think i should focus on, What would u change? THanks for any input..

Forget about the headers. Get the NWR exhaust system if its time to replace the cats or exhaust pipes.

it has a borla system already but that's from the y-pipes back. Does the NWR system change the y-pipes?

NWR has a Performance Y-Pipe with free low cats and larger tubes. Cost is $795 from Rovers North.

If your truck needs maintanace repairs because it is 15 years old, I would take care of that before spending time & $ on headers. Of course you will need cats and O2 sensors at some point, and that would help that 4.6 breathe.

Yeah i agree, i already did the steering box, altenator(3 times), radiator, transmission cooler, plugs, wires, o2 sensors, distributor, water pump, brake booster, master cylinder so the engine is almost new. This all happened within the last year. Now she runs pretty well, but i plan to do some preventive maintence over thanksgiving and if anyone can guide my thoughts i would be thankful.
