Has anyone seen that new Jeep Liberty commercial where the lady gets blocked in by a truck, and puts the jeep into 4 wheel drive in order to drive out of a parking spot forward and go over two little bitty garden timbers that my grandpa could cross in an oldsmobile?

How lame is that commercial..................

Yeah, I hate that stupid commerical. She then also drives over a little dirt mound at a constructions zone. Pretty lame.

It's just funny that there slogan is:

Only in a Jeep

And I'm immediately thinking that means that only in a jeep you would have to engage the 4 wheel drive to get over a 3" tall garden timber.

Well, at the same time the D2 commercial where the two yuppies are going to the theater in the rain and they stop to pick up the wet dog on the freeway was pretty gay too.

Eric I have been doing just fine not thinking about that commercial for a while, thanks for bringing it up again now I think you owe the whole board an apology.

And Ross, since Insurance picked up the wrecker fee I'm gonna go ahead and say my disco dominated the climb.... now as for that "hole to hell" in the middle of the road well that thing officially had it bleeding out of the tailpipe :)

Carter, not going to happen. The worst is the BS that Ford and Nissan are putting out. The one where the Nissan frontier comes out of some brass balls mold and goes shooting off over some dirt with the bed all bouncing and flexing just screams build quality to me. Then Ford, the one where the hill climbers are pulling their sport trac hunk of crap up the mountain with them.. um ya, ok. And then the new one they have out with a explorer or expedition parked on the side of a cliff and the mountian climbers come down and get inside of it and then do a u turn and drive down the cliff. um. bullshit.. I'd like to see a Ford any Ford climb up a 100 yard 90 degree wall with out a winch. Hell, I'd like to see any truck do it.

What makes me laugh are those Je**p license plate brackets and window stickers that say "You wouldn't get it, it's a J**p thing!" Thank God I don't get it! But it pissed me off no small amount when I passed a Cherokee the other day with a Paragon Adventure Park sticker that said: "Paragon: It's a J**p thing!" OMG, I damn near drove the guy off the highway!! LOL

Concerning the "Two yuppies going to the theater in the rain commercial". Were they trying to show that us Land Rover owners are not all rich assholes but daring, caring people who would easily throw away the theatre tickets to save a wet mutt? What was the point? My televison would literally secrete a sugary substance whenever it came on.

maybe they were starving because they couldn't afford food after making their car loan and gas credit card payments, and they were going to eat the dog, in true adventure spirit.

Moo Goo Dog Pan there Blue.. Ya, snowman, that was probably what they were going for.. Too bad it is still crap either way. 80% of USA land rover owners would rather switch lanes and turn a blind eye to the dog then get their shoes wet.

What about that stupid jeep commercial where they are racing against a helicopter to the top of a hill and they all beat the copter. That's bullshit first of all, and what are they even saying about the car.

PS - the new BMW film is out if anyone looks at them.

I can NEVER not stop to help a lost dog. I am always throwing a wandering mutt into my car and searching for the owner. Unfortunately I find that about 50% of the time most owners hardly thank me. They act like I just returned a lost Klennex or something. Presently we have a rather large goofy Berner dog that loves people, they are a very special breed indeed! What kind of dogs do you guys have?

I have had so far in my life a Collie, a Great Pyrenees, a mutt (never knew what it really was), 3 Irish Wolfhounds, a Weimaraner, a Black Tongued Chow, and I currently have a Pitt Bull mix. My next dog will either be a Vizsla or a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I have never been without a dog in my entire life and probably never will be I hope.

If I move to Alaska then I will get an Alaskan Malamute since my other two choices probably wouldn't fair well in the winters there.

I currently have a rough collie. Our previous dog was hit by a car a year and a half ago. I really miss that dog. She was a mutt (black lab, english springer spaniel, and austrailian shepard. Great dog! Also had a german shepard, 2 dalmations, and a collie/keyshound mix.

Next I'd really like a Irish Wolfhound, or a Great Dane, or just cruise the shelters and get another mix. they're usually the best.

Eric, what did you think of the hounds? My biggest fear is the stomache turning. We take our dogs everywhere.

Eric- Last summer I met someone walking what I thought was a Ridgeback. However it was actually much bigger than the average Ridge and did not have the detail down the back. It was a mammoth dog and had a great character. Wish I could remember the name because I had never heard of it before. The owner said it was from the Rhodesian Ridgeback family. Got any ideas on what it was?

Our Berner "Sophie" was my wife's choice and she is a great dog but the health issues from a small gene pool are already starting to creep up. She has elbow problems and will need correction soon. It will amount to about the cost of a nice winch and RR bumper.

Years ago I had a neighbor in CA. who had a Pitt Bull. I swear "Rocky" would retrieve a 12 pound bowling ball all day. The guy would roll it down the driveway and the dog would chase it down and chomp down on the ball hard and pick it up. He was a very nice dog, well trained (I appreciated that) and very friendly.

Irish Wolfhounds are great dogs. They listen very well and are really gental for thier size. However, as with most large dogs they don't live as long. They are also prone to stomache, kiddney, and blader problems. The one lived about 9 years and the other two about 8 and 7 years. Of course the 7 year was a big dog. It's head was at about 5' 5" so it was more of a horse then a dog. I just don't have the house for one or I would have one again. They need a big area to run in.. A really big area. If you had a farm or large property that would be best for them.

Snowman, no, I'm not sure what it is that they have. Sorry to hear about your dog.

Awwwwwwwww....stand back boys, as I've said it before. I LIKED the wet-dog commercial! We chicks DUG it, much like rooftop tents and some other stuff I forget at the moment (I've had three sips of a White Russian, I can be forgiven). I still think we should do a commercial parody starring a tricked-out Rover hopping the curb at the mall. We'd need a spotter, of course. And lots of jerry cans on the roof rack. And a big-ass winch! Rob, feel the wood????? LOL!

Eric, honey, lighten up today, eh? Dog chat is better for you than yuppie, scum-sucking tree-humper chat (G). We liberals are apparently ruining your day, and only a week after we handed you our asses on a platter in the elections. REJOICE! Speaking of tree humpers, where's our gp been???? gp gone can only mean one thing.....there's a new chick in the wood pile! Uh-oh, that fourth sip of the witch's brew is kickin' in....better shut up now....

Karen,

I'll bet you another white russian that the average D2 driver would be horrified to drive over the fore mentioned fence posts. Instead, they would go in the store and bitch about the truck being in their way.

Now on the Liberal thing, we Military / Government types thank you for your support in the past elections. :)

Eric,

I have a Viszla that's almost six years old. If you get one, be prepared for a dog that will act like a crazy puppy even with gray hair starting to sprout.

They are wonderful animals that have some quirks that you have to deal with. Hmm, sort of like a Rover?

Hey Eric-
You have a co-worker that has negative things to say about our Veterans and the wars they fought and died in? Please tell me I mis-understood the thread.

Yes, I did, and he isn't here today so maybe he went some where else after work spitting that same crap out of his mouth and got a good ass beating. Can't say that me and about 15 other folks around me weren't ready to take him out to the parking lot and kick the crap out of him.

Eric-
Not that there is any excuse but may I ask the age and any background information of this person? I only ask to try to somehow find a reason why someone could be so venomous, especially during this time in our history. We all have experiences in our lives that effect the opinions we offer in public but that's just downright stupid and unexcusable. By the way give em' a boot for me, my father and my grandfather!

White male, college (not sure where cause I never asked), 29 years ignorant. I have never really talked to him much cause he is against, gun ownership, hunting, eating meat, probably doesn't even like hot apple pie either. One of those types. Just another a-hole that is stealing the air from the rest of us.
