I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have sacrificed for our country and those that continue to do so.

I'll lift a glass to you all as soon as my boss goes to lunch. Bad form to drink before noon, you know.

Todd

Yes, thank you very much for risking your lives so that I can live a better life. That means alot to me. I just wish that some of the ban every thing tree hugging idiots would understand what people have done and sacrificed to make this country the great country that it is. It's sad to see something that people have fought and died for get litigated away by a bunch of whining cry babies who think that peace and love is going to fix the planet and if it doesn't they'll just sue some one or something till they feel better. Regardless, hats off to you guys and girls for standing up and keeping our great country great.

As I raise my beer and yell "Cheers" to you all.

I've always liked this...uhhh...poem I guess, that my brother sent me:

It's the soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the
PRESS.

It's the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of
SPEECH.

It's the soldier, not the campus
ORGANIZER,
Who has given us the freedom to
DEMONSTRATE

It's the soldier, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a
FAIR TRIAL.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag,
Serves under the flag
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

-Father D. E. O'Brien

As my daughter gets older I want to make sure she understands why she gets Memorial Day and Veteran's Day off of school and celebrates accordingly.

Thanks - my gig was Desert Storm, over 6 months camping in the desert. Aerial recon, fun stuff but glad to be home and out of the military.

It took me a long time to go camping again after that...

Other vets out there? Matt - what was your gig?

Thanks all you vets! You are appreciated! Especially those who fought for our freedom.

To remember I'm going to watch my new "Band of Brothers" DVD! (Yep, the whole thing)

Pugsly - Somalia, 7th MarDiv

Karen - The backbone of the any military unit is always it's support network back home.

Peter - If I may indulge you with a little Kipling. I'll just post the links to keep the post short:

Finally, to all, I would ask that you please not forget that today began as 'Armstice Day' and is celebrated around the world, so, please give a toast to our allies that have stood by us in what we do.

That poem hangs on the wall of our barracks back home. I have allways loved it. It shows how much it can hurt when you see certain things in the news, and how much we all care about freedom and the great United States of America.

I want to lift my hat as well, to all those who have served.

Cheers,

Kennith

Salutes to all of the Vets, a day late. As a veteran (US Army USASOC, Gulf War, Somalia, Bosnia) and the son of a combat Marine (2nd MarDiv, Guadacanal), I have nothing but admiration for ALL who serve now and those who did. You kept and keep our country free with your sacrifices. So many nights away from home and family so that they and everyone in our great country will stay free. If you are deployed now, stay true to your cause and come home safe and know that the torch of freedom is kept lit by you. And to the passing generation of WWII veterans, sleep well and hold your head high in knowing that your sacrifices saved the entire concept of freedom in this world, for then and forever more. God Bless You All!

I was a H53 crewchief based out of Tustin, CA and floated with the 15th MEU(SOC). Small world.....

Salute to all who served, albeit a day late and all. Retired Navy Chief, Started with the Iranian hostage crisis and finished on a drug interdiction op that went from Pacific to the Caribbean and back. Any idea on what over 3500 pounds of Columbia's other cash crop looks like when stacked on pallets? I do!

Very small world indeed. BTW, does the name V22guy have anything to do with the Osprey?

Outstanding. Exactly what the Corp needs. If you all should ever happen to be bringing one to Okinawa, drop me a line.
