1)A rebuild kit for my tired 3.9's top end, I am the proud owner of the world's most expensive metronome- tick...tick...tick.
2)TJM front and rear bumpers- they may not be everyone's favorite selection but it's what I want- complete with a "Freelander Recovery Vehicle" bumper sticker on the back.
3)While I've debated over which sliders to get (see the 5 million threads which have beaten the topic to death) I have seen the Rovertym sliders save someone's ass from an untimely visit to the dealership too many times in the past year to ignore their effective design.
4)A pamphlet from $afariguard cause that's all anyone can afford
5)Rubber rear loadspace protector with the sides that go real high (and a thing in the stock that tells time)
6)Several bottles of Techron (see aforementioned top end issue)
7)Some new rear lenses for my bumper- MAR creek beds AKA the grinch
8)A Season's Greetings card from my local LR shop would be nice...
9)A few gallons of Superliner would be nice since the underbody treatment is disintegrating faster than Ford can funnel money away from LR R&D.
10)A new mainshaft for the defective one that is eating itself away every time I shift (did I say defect? What I really meant to say was the item that could be replaced by an improved model at the customer's request at full price)

P.S. If you bring a little snow this year to the mid atlantic region I might be able to hustle a few bucks for gas from the Rav 4's and CRV's stuck in the slush at the mall.

Dear Santa,

I'd settle for a paid-up payment book.

Karen, you KNOW how good I've been :)

Dear Santa,

Please bring me this for christmas:

It's on eBay right now and there's about 9 hours remaining. There's no Buy-it-now and I don't know what the reserve is, so please Santa, stop wasting your time reading other wish list and bid on it now!

Thank you!

Rob,

That is a nice truck indeed...

It looks like it was an ex-Mod judging by those "extra" trim on the front bumper. I wonder what kind of "needs some work" does it need. If it's a running project, I think it is well worth it for the price. I still have my fingers crossed for a series deal hopefully happening around christmas... which now makes me wonder if I should or should not call ECR about this 109, if this 109 turns out to be good, I would definitely go nuts trying to decide which one.... damn decisions...hehehe

I have simple requests. A new rubber mat set, the keyless remote control and to steal Karen's...an empty payment book. Then we could start adding things like a roof rack and lift kit.
And I need a digital camera...for off road events!
I think I've been good......:)

Dear Santa,

We've ALL been good, well, some of us have been WOOD, but beyond that we've for the most part stayed out of jail at least (though I can't speak for gp's whereabouts of late). So, please grant my friends here on DiscoWeb their wishes first (look sharp D-webbers, I'm schmoozin' the fat man!) and then if you feel I'm worthy, please grant me my own wish. And God, if you're listening, a little peer pressure, please? TIA,

Karen :)

Here's the list of my demands Santa;

#1 A D90 for me and a 176c for the soon to be Mrs' disco2 (aka Pig). That's right, you heard it here, when I get the D90, Ann Marie gets the Pig.

#2 Garrett wants to be the Man for the Olsen twins Prom night. Don't forget cash and condoms, you don't now what those twins been up to. While you are at it, kick down with a '99 D1 for him as well, he's been good to the Amish this year.

#3 Big Daddy (aka Evan) needs a new pair of Boxers.

Now get hot,

Paul

Santa,
1)Please convince the phillyrovers that we need to get our sorry ass's offroad more, particularly one of them who is afraid of breaking his truck.

2)Please get Zack some suspension pieces so he can "lift and seperate". And some new rubber and steel wheels to go with it, and a new GPS.

3)Please get Chris that new fucking axle already, and a brand new, unbreakable server of his own!!

4)Please get a beautiful young au pair girl for Evan to help him watch the kiddies. He won't need anything else, I assure you!

5)Please get Garrett a tractor-trailer load of toilet paper...he knows why! Also, please get Garrett some assistance in the office so he can get out and play...please don't change his sense of humor though!

6)Please get Paul a gift-certificate for $10k and a catalog of replacement unbreakable parts.

7)Please make Worldcom stock go way up for my friends so they shut up about it already!!

8)Please get Greg....hmmm, this is hard Greg has everything now that his short rack syndrome has been cured....ok, please get Greg the newest and best Adobe Photoshop software and a new top of the line powerful PC so he can keep entertaining us with DOCTORED photos!

9)Please provide Glenn with the Series truck he asked for above.

10)Please give John the landrights to Wurtsboro and Ringwood and enough money to keep them open for us all.

11)Please give Axel the best professional Sony digital camera and editing equipment ever made so he can keep turning out better and better DVDs

12)Most of all, please keep all my friends and their loved ones safe and healthy and happy for a long time to come.

13)I'm okay Santa, even with all the above stuff handed out, I still have too many toys, and I'm still winning!

You obviously have NEVER spoken face to face with Santa the cigar chewing, bourbon swilling, foulmouthed benefactor of children. He has like THE foulest potty mouth! LOL How do I know this? sheeesh, why do you think I'm winning? Santa and I drink and play cards together! You'll need to refine your approach if ya want to win!

Well Paul, I think you'd get along well with him....he likes Chili, and has the same "response" after eating it as you do....and he tells incredible foul jokes! But in fairness, he NEVER does any of this in front of the children!!! Especially the stuff with the reindeer!

(You're not going to cry because your image of Santa has been shattered are you??)

Letter from Santa

Dear Friends.

I have been watching you very closely to see if you
have been good this year and since you have I will be
telling my elves to make some goodies for me to leave
under your tree at Christmas. I was going to bring you
all gifts from the 12 days of Christmas, but we
had a little problem. The 12 fiddlers fiddling have
all come down with VD from fiddling with the
10 ladies dancing, the 11 lords leaping have
knocked up the 8 maids a-milking, and the 9 pipers
piping have been arrested for doing weird things
to the 7 swans a-swimming. The 6 geese a-laying, 4 calling
birds, 3 French hens, 2 turtle doves and the partridge
in a pear tree have me up to my sled runners in bird
shit. On top of all this Mrs. Claus is going through
menopause, 8 of my reindeer are in heat, the elves
have joined the gay liberation and some people who
can't read a calendar have scheduled Christmas for
the 5th of January.
Mabey next year I will be able to get my shit together
and bring you the things you want. This year I
suggest you get your asses down to Walmart before everything
is gone.
Sincerely,
Santa Claus

hey Todd, what made you decide on a cruiser instead of a series??? I love them both and am just curious what influenced your decision. Oh and thats a very cool color, one of the few times I have ever looked at baby blue as being incredibly masculine.

I was trying to recall where I saw an old Land Cruiser similar to this, and I finally remembered. It was sitting in a parking lot near Jessup, MD a few months ago. They are even neater looking in person. Todd, that truck looks ready to roll, too! I have old Cruiser envy now. Santa, HELP! :)

Oh where to start...at the top I guess...KJ it's a 73. Carter (this is a little tougher) why the FJ...I have a herd of stuff here and I am but one wrench wielding fool. The talley to date is 3 British, 4 Jap, and 1 German (which from the maintenance factor may as well be British). Having done that little bit of math their is parity in some strange way. Back to the possibly the real question, Series vs FJ. Both are great and very capable. The weak spot of the early FJ's in snowy/salt climes is rust. I went south to Alabama for this rust free example. Also, there is simply no end to the engine, trans, suspension etc..etc..etc..things you can do with an FJ. Last but not least, one of the above rolling stock is an 84 Toy sr5xcab PU that I've owned since new. Rust is not kind to these....but the front disc brake setup, power steering and a host of other things are very much usable in the old FJ. Buy late spring I'll be down to 7 vehicles with a lot of spare goodies invarious stages of reincarnation in the FJ.

my parents had a '69 FJ40 when i was growing up. took it to our farm and that thing did anything we tried to make it do. even help pull out a cement truck at the farm. there are a few in town that are MINT. one very attractive girl has one in town. even in my truck i sit below her.......i feel inferior. :) and i like it.

Karen

You mentioned Jessup MD. Do you live around there. I spent a couple of years working out of the Fair Hill training center. Also what do you do to sweeten a barn sour horse. I've started a ten year old ex-racer back after a long layoff and I think I can make him a pleasure horse. LOL.

Hey, HEY, you bugger gp! You know I drink Caucasians, LOL, Roverine is the Margie girl. Tom, I'm in Suthern Merlin, but saw that old Cruiser on an antiquing foray a few weeks ago. I'm rushing because I'm supposed to be in bed so I can get up in three hours (G) to fly into this lovely nor'easter we're having. But, I'm reading DiscoWeb instead. Shaddup Garrett, I'm attached to my addictions! :)
Anyway, quick note, but I'd say if the old horse won't buck you into the dirt, just hack him on the trail until he sees there's more to life. Take him in company of course, for ALL the reasons we're both thinking of, LOL! Be certain he's not feeling sore from his previous life though, or he'll never get happy. Of course, if you relieve TOO much of his pain you MIGHT kiss Mother Earth more than you'd like. A *little* creaky until he gets used to the great outdoors might serve you well. Good luck, and let me know how it's going.

Karen :)
