My 1995 RRC has had a strange electrical fault for ever. Periodically the lights would dim, and the radio would just quit (but no 'code' would appear and sometimes, if the conditions were right, the thing would just quit, i.e. engine stop. Well, under warranty, the alternater was fixed, then the problem went away for a year! Now it's back. I had it diagnosed and it's a bad battery - it would only keep a surface charge (they called it) and as each current drain (ABS pump, lights, various elect motors etc) increased, the battery crapped out. It was good enough to start etc, but lost charge. I'd never seen this before. So a new Optima is fitted. Cold crank amps were 1079! Old battery was 348!! Just an FYI, FWIW - for you non-tech types!
