Someone here had posted a link to their installation of Autometer Electrical Gauges on their Range Rover dash. Anyone know where it is? It was done very nicely and I would like to install the same, thanks. |

Thanks but I was familiar with Perrone's tech section on his site, it's very helpful. However I have decided to go with the electrical gauges. I am a bit afraid of bringing the fluids into my cab. More my talent level than anything. I searched this site and others but just can't find it. |

Snowman, If all you are worried about are the fluids, then you're worrying about nothing. If you can screw a nut onto a bolt, you can make good plumbing connections. The compression fittings are the same used in bathroom/kitchen plumbing and should last the life of the truck. The only leak I had was when I first installed and failed to tighten the connections enough to compress the fitting. Since then, I have forgotten about that stuff. I wholeheartedly advocate mechanical over electrical (you know why) and if you take your time, you can eliminate the normal problems with mechanical gauges. Honestly, I wouldn't install anything else. Plus it's very cool to see how the temps rise and fall after the truck is turned off... -P |

Hi S, I got the gauges years ago for a 1923 T Bucket job I was doing, and never got around to it. Sold off the spedo and tach, and decided to install these. Summit racing has great prices on these units and If I'm right free ground shipping on all orders over a certain amount, just like an 8 dollar handling fee no matter how big or bulky the item. PS, I have a wheelie bar kit for a 1923 T-Bucket with a 1955 Chevy rear End and also the rear gas tank holder, Chrome radiator reservoir, and a chrome alternator hi amp for it if anyone is interested. The alt is for a corvette engine circa 1970's, maybe a 274 V8? not sure Ozzie |
