I have a pair of Orvis Comfortemp gloves. They are fantastic and I only paid $25.00 for them. I live about 15 minutes from an Orvis outlet and last summer they had a big sale on the Barbour coats that have been mentioned here recently. They were priced from only $75.00 to 150.00! My wife wanted me in one but I am more of a Gortex/Carthart type of guy. Generally everything at the outlet is about 40%-50% off their retail. This includes their fly fishng stuff, great deals indeed. It's truely an outlet store in the real sense. It's not the usual fake mall type of "outlet" store that is so prevalent everywhere.

I have a Zambezi Travel Vest and some misc. shirts. Haven't worn the vest yet and I have had it for almost a year and a half now.

All four of our dogs wear Orvis, sleep on Orvis, and eat from Orvis. I think they live a better life than we do, cuz they don't have to get up and go to work!!

Orvis is a company that makes equipment for flyfishing like rods, flys etc...
They also make a line of clothing for outdoors. The clothes are well made and durable.

My Berner sleeps on a huge Orvis bed, good for her bones and it's washable.

Snowman, my mom has two bernese mountain dogs, they are the 5th and 6th ones she has had. They have an Orvis bed but they don't really like it, my german shepherd that still lives at my parents house loves it though.

As for Orvis clothes, If I am going to shell out that much money for clothes it is going to be Patagonia or Ex-officio.

2 Berners and a Shepard, that's alot of dog care! Our 80 lb. female Berner "Sophie" is a our first. I am amazed how gentle and outgoing she is. Any of your Mom's Berners ever have elbow problems? Our Sophie gets sore and limps when she plays too much and the Vet. suggested an elbow operation.

Yep, Patagonia makes some good stuff. If you ever get to Berkley CA. they have an outlet there, great prices.

Yeah, there is also a jack russel, two cats (one in the house and one in the barn), and two horses -its crazy over there. I want to say that she says joint problems are pretty common for the breed, she knows a lot about them and actually bred a litter once, by any chance did Sophie come to you on a plane from Louisiana about 10 years ago???

Orvis used to make nice things. I have some old stuff from the 70's-80's. now everything is made in China land, as far as their flyrods go, they are pretty nice as well as thier reels. I have a 6 wt and a battenkill (however you spell it) reel. If you want real hunting clothes look at Filson. Barbour used to be good but thier products have seemed to be getting shitty.

Carter-
Sophie is from a breeder in Vermont. This VT breeder has about 2-3 litters a year. I have considered breeding myself but need another outbuilding first. Louisiana, Neville Brothers fan by chance?
