Well folks, I am getting ready to install an air tank in the cargo area of my 88 RR. I have an air tank from a EAS RR (thanks Ozzie) along with a Quick Air II compressor. The compressor is mounted on the wall where the spare tire used to sit. I made a shelf (like the one on the passenger side) to mount the air tank underneath. I noticed last night that the air tank has some wires coming out of it and thought this might be the sensor to let the compressor know that it's reached it's max psi. Am I right? Can I use this sensor to turn off the compressor when it reaches the max psi?

I know nothing about compressors and air tanks, actually I don't know much about anything....

Can someone give me some ideas on how to wire the tank to the compressor.

Thanks in advance,

John C.

John,

Have you given any thoughts to mounting the air tank in the same location as an EAS vehicle? It's normally located on the driver side frame rail. I used to have my QA2 comp in the same area where the battery would be on a RHD vehicle. You'll need to modify the PS reservoir a little. This way, at least you won't have to hear the comp run inside the vehicle. Although, keeping the air comp inside the vehicle keeps it a bit cooler.

Regarding some wiring schematics, contact sun performance, the seller of QA2 compressor and have them fax you an schematic. If they don't do it, then ask ARB USA to do the same. If your tank has a pressure switch, then it's prolly set to turn air comp on at 80psi and off at 100psi.

Have fun.
