I have been a disco owner for a while and just recently purchased an '81 Rangie 2-door. It is in bad need of a new exhaust system and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on that, it needs from the manifold all the way back. i guess the question is could i just use exhaust from an '87? Also anyone know the easiest way to slap a snorkel on there since its carburated do you just run a hose to the inatake in the middle there? |

paul, i have the manifolds from a 1987 and the brand new pre-cat down pipes that i just talked about a few posts above. i think this should be all you need. then have a generic exhaust made at the local exhaust shop. let me get the pictures tonight rob |

So, you bought the old beast! Good for you. Rob's advice on the exhaust makes sense. Also, for further help, give Arthur at Rovers North a call (1-800-403-7591). He owns an '85 and can be very helpful with both advice and parts. |

I'm curious, does your RR have a cat at all? I have a single cat after the y pipe. Also, do you have the Pulsair air injection system with an air pump? I'm thinking about removing mine but am concerned about passing emissions testing here in CT. |

Rob that looks like it would work just right, how much would you want for the manifolds and the down pipes, that is if they are for sale? As for your question paul, yes it has a single intermidate after the down pipes. And yes i do have the pulsair air injection, and if i were you i would not take it out for CT. I live in NY and know that they are pretty strict over there, so i would say its up to you. |
