I am looking to take a 3-4 day vacation with my wife and another couple. I would like to go somewhere within driving distance so I can take the Rover. I would also like some places to go with the Rover, and my friends Jeep, while the women are shopping, etc. Of course, it needs to still be a "vacation" for the girls, but my friend and I want to ride, and not let on that was in the works from day one. I live in Raleigh, NC. Any suggetions. |

Snowman, You should check out either the outerbanks or the mountains (Asheville, Boone area) The outerbanks you can rent a beach house in the off season Jan - April for around 1000 / week. |

Go down to the Highlands/Cashiers area. Lake Toxaway is gorgeous. You can rent a house/cabin and the ladies can enjoy LOTS of high-end shopping in Highlands while you explore the National Forests. Great restuarants and fun little crafty places to shop as well. Also, the High Hampton Inn and Resort is a fantastic place. It's about 5-6 hours from Raleigh. www.highhamptoninn.com www.highlandsinfo.com ENJOY! |

Yeah Snowman, Beach driving in the Outer banks is great. You can enjoy cigars and fishing with your buddies, and you can take the ladies on great romantic walks along the beach. It is also the home of one of my favorite places to dine, Elizebeth's Cafe and Winery, winner of a Wine Spectator's award for exeptional pairing of food and wine. It's in the town of Duck. This is one of those places you don't ever forget. With a Rover, you can easily enjoy solitude most people see in movies. If you want to see what it's like, rent Message in a Bottle. Oh, watch it with your significant other, so when she says, "wouldn't it be nice if we could get away like that", you can say: "I have an idea". Cheers, Kennith |

Snowman, if you're going to NC check out Cape Hatteras on the outer banks if you like fishing. Just don't buy one of those OBX stickers. God I hate those. |
