I am designing and planning on making my own rooftop tent. It will be very similar to the ones currently on the market, but mine is going to be 60" wide x 96" long with a center height of 67". Just about enough room to stand and sleep 2.5 people. It will still self-fold down to a 60"x48" footprint. Is anyone interested in having one built? I don't know the exact cost yet, I am still getting a quote on the tent. I am pretty sure that the overall cost will be way less than the $1400-$2000 for available models. Hopefully it will be less than $1000.00. I have all the other components designed and ready for manufacturing. I will do the majority of the manufacturing myself. If you are interested in one or have suggestions please share your ideas. Thanks, Chris |

Chris, If it's anything like your CB bracket I'll bet you can easily move a few. On the other hand, you have my CB-Rooftop Tent system - where you cannot sleep two people (or 2.5 for that matter) or even get up on your knees for those more adventurous backcountry romps. On the other hand, I only spent twenty-five bucks on the tent and another fifteen on the fin-birch plywood. The whole thing weighs less than fifteen pounds too. Now, it's only good for two and a half seasons (West Coast), but it does keep me off the ground where all those crawly things live. When you get some drawings / pictures / prices back would you put me on your list? Happy holidays, e |

Erik, glad to hear the cb-bracket is working for you. I will keep you in the loop on the Roof Top Tent(RTT). Have a Happy Gobble-Day, Chris |

Jon, I've been exploring rack options. Where did you get a con-ferr with mounts to fit a disco??? Did you just attach it to yakima load bars or something?? Thanks |

Carter, That's my rack design - yes, it's integrated to the forward and middle stock luggage rack points on four columns. I had to build in the two stantions at the back where some Disco's have a third set of luggage rack points - mine didn't. e |

Sorry Jon, we got our wires crossed..... I was actually adressing it to the other Jon (Jon Santana) who said he has a con-ferr rack. Your rack does look cool though |
