I only know one person who has successfully installed a big block in a rover and it was a 6.2l diesel.

How about a Chevy ZL-1 aluminum big block? Few/no suspension mods needed due to weight of iron block but don't know about clearance for extra length. Been toying with the idea but haven't made much progress with details yet. Besides block alone is $5k. Check out the Defender BB re Chevy LS-1 conversion.

why not just buy a older blazer,
put on some parabolic springs
& save a rover from being butchered?
it would be much cheaper!

do some math mr big $$.
caddy big block 5k
turbo 400 built to take the hp 3k
powerglide built to take it 4k
t-case that wont grenade 3k
dana 60's f&r built, 6k
suspension parts 2k
disc brakes that work 2k
mods to make it all fit 5k
cage to keep ya alive 2k
wheels & tires 2k+
labour to build it 5k

74 Blazer big block already built up;
under 20k!

but if you insist on spending big bucks,
Bubba can help ya build whatever ya want!
just dont plan on it being street legal

Bubba has built a few & knows the prices

P-32 plymouth, diplomat subbed,
caddy 500cid, turbo 400, ford 9"
faster than you wanna ride in!

Bubba knows when you're lyin & stoopid!

go ahead, put that 500lb 7.3 in a rover,
then hit the brakes & hope it doesnt endo
from all that weight on its nose!
a c-6 & bw wont fit in the tunnel,
the motor is too long & wide to fit in the frame,
the rad wont fit inside the sheetmetal or
be able to get enuff airflow when cut out to fit.

the engine of choice if ya wanna die-sell
is the MB 3.0 tdi, it will fit, the OE trans
can be bolted up, the rad wont need to be changed,
& the motors run 300k easily.

built that, been there, broke it all.

why not just drop a rover body on top of a ford f250 rolling chassi. how hard would that be. than there would be no nose roll over or just build a monster truck to take out grave digger. or a mud drag racer top fuel with a rover body.
