i now have no reverse. also, once i get to around 50 mph, the t-case knob slips out, leaving me in neutral.

strangest thing of all is that all transmission gear positions (including neutral & reverse) have become forward gears.

this all happened after spendnig the day in 4L cdl

any help would be greatly appriciated...

I would first check out your transmission shifter cable or linkage. I have never looked at mine but from the sounds of you problem I would start there.

Then on to the transfercase linkage. Sounds like it could have gotten bent and now no longer shifts completely into the normal postion

where and what is a sprag?

In addition to Shane's suggestion a failed motor/•••••• mount would be the first thing I would CHECK. Sprag failure would not cause the positions to be wrong or the T-case to jump into neutral but would cause a loss of reverse.

please post back and let us know

Sprag failure would cause it to go forward no matter where the selector was... Either that or the planet assembly...

And because the shifter is cable I highly doubt a motor mount would have any affect on it. The cable doesnt really care where the trans and engine are....

checked the shifter cable and motor mounts. both are ok.

unfourtunately, im with shane on the "where and what is a sprag?" question.

Kyle, is it something an amature mechanic could handle, or am i lookin at a trip to the Landy shop?

thanks guys...

If you have a reputable trans shop near you take it in and have them do the check for you. Both of those failures I mentioned earlier are fairly catosrophic but you wont really know till someone takes a look. There is a rangie trans for sale in the for sale section right now as well.
