This has always kinda bugged me. A couple of my friends (Jeep drivers) try to convince me that they drive their rigs 80-90% offroad-I don't buy it as they live near me and I know better (and no trailering of rigs). Driving time or miles? Just curious....

If they are not trailering the rig, they are full of it.

Petrol burning engines are measured according to miles. Typiclly diesel engines are mesured in hours like farm equip etc...

80-90% offroad? LOL. I think even 10% offroad is basically a joke but 80-90% is absurd. I think the vast majority of us are under 1% offroad.

I can beat them with my '73 MB 280C which is 100% off [the] road since it's being neglected by the owner...hehehe

i like to state, i"ve done about "****" miles of rigorous off road driving. i think it's a better way of looking at it.

Given the condition of the "roads" down here I think I can probablly say that I am offroad about 90% of the time :)

hehe-I've never questioned that they're full of crap-I've always argued that the inverse ratio of what they claim was probably closer to truth. Our discussions usually are just BS anyways (i.e. yeah, and is that an ENRON speedometer on your rig?"). However, they they argue that "time behind the wheel" is more valid than "miles behind the wheel" with all the rhetoric about boats, planes and racing engines.

I was just curious if anyone else held with their twisted logic-thanks.
