I was wondering if ppl could chime in w/ their experiences w/ either. i like the looks of both.... and the price difference between the two isnt that big of a deal. i do some light to moderate offroading, would like to a do an expedition in the near future... proably something along the lines of Border to Border. from what i have gathered the arb is more stout than the garvin... im not sure if i really need the extra strength although it would be nice to have... any ideas |

Hi Nick: I looked at both the ARB and the Garvin for my 92 RRC but ended up getting a Brownchurch from Rovers North, the ARB was too tall to fit in my garage. From my previous research into both, the ARB is definetly stronger and I have seen pictures of people standing on top of their ARB, it is a one piece design where as the Garvin is a bolt together design. |

it is very difficult to get an ARB one now a days, i think they stopped importing them. i liek the brownchurch next it hink it looks the best too. but many people her eget buy with the garvin and it will do the job. rd |

i have a Con-Ferr and am pretty dang happy with it. i am up there all the time and they aren't too pricey. the only drawback (like a few others out there) is that you have to develop a flooring for it. just something to consider. |

been happy with my garvin. had it almost 2 years now. had a custom flooring made for it and sleep up there. (among other things ) and have had up to 4 people up there walking around and sitting up there for tailgates. also had close to 400 lbs of gear up there. never any issues with it. there are better built racks out there for sure, but the garvin was all i needed in my opinion. and i like the flat bottom style. |

I have a Garvin as well as it does everything i need it to. As for which rack is stronger, i don't think anyone is putting enough shit on their roof to test the limits of any rack they buy. (aside from thule or Yakima) A benefit to the bolt together design is if you ever put a tree into the garvin rack you can buy the new section as opposed to replacing the rack. My two cents. |

My Garvin is as rattle-free and solid as the day I put it on 3 years ago and it's been loaded, walked on, and generally abused alot. I'm much happier with it than I expected to be. Their wheel mount is great. I have their floor-kit, but might be more inclined to fab some aluminum or something. The floor-kit does lend itself to bolting hi-lifts and synching straps. The Brownchurch (round tubes)is nice, but makes significantly more noise than the Garvin(square tubes). I found availability problems with the ARB back when I was looking too. |
