I am living in Tempe, AZ. Seems our local club has gone on the lamb. Can't seem to contact any of the members effectively. Any AZ rover owners out here on discoweb? If so, I am interested in getting a few of us together to do some wheelin. Let me know. Jess 02D2 Check my profile for contact info. |

Jess, Sorry to say that your initial impression of Arizona clubbing is accurate. I live south east of Tuscon in Sierra Vista. A club exists in Tuscon but there are only a handful of true riders. The President of the club is the only one who rides consistently(that I know of). He generally escapes the hot monsoon season and heads north. He should be back in Tuscon by now. He is a retired trooper and does off-road tours now. Here is his business website: http://home.flash.net/~rdgrnr Someone else you should contact is Bluegill, here on DWEB. He lives close to you and probably knows more about active riders than me. Arizona riding is great. If you have trouble finding a place to ride, email me- I can give you some recommendations. I'd invite you to a trail soon but I am currently away on business in Alabama. |

Hey Jess, I'm in your area. We'll have to hit some trails after the holidays. |

Thanks BW. I appreciate that. It is just that attempts to email the people at AZLRO came up with nothing, and it seems that the site hasnt been updated in over a year. I am aware of many very good trails, and have been on several (sibley mansion, table mesa, FR42, etc). I guess I was just hoping that I could find some like minded rover owners without paying someone 50 bucks to tour a trail that could just as well be done with some decent maps and a good navigator. Thanks for your help, though, BW. I will see if I can get in touch with Bluegill. |
