LR Cape Fear / Greensboro hosted a dealer sponsored event in the Sanford, NC area today and there was a moto cross course and a forest trail for people to cruise around on. It was just a fun day to get together, play in the dirt, eat, and play some more. I got to play with a new Freelander and I must admit, that quick little car was fun. I shot some pics of one fartin around the course....

Towards the end of the day, some folks were straying into the mud. Here, a beautiful D110 got swallowed in.....This was a chance for me to use that strap I picked up from EE.
Carter, I did not treat that Freelander like a Rally Car.... |

I rode a lap around with Jordan and his D1. James Bond would have Electronic Gizmo envy if he saw this D1....

Yeah, I know it's not the Rubicon, MOAB or the Moon. But, Hats off to a couple of Dealers that put together an event that everyone got a nice lunch, received a sweatshirt, and got to demo new model year cars for free. That's right, no jack ($) required! Paul '00 Pig |

I wasn't accusing you of ragging it out or anything, just making an observation about the difference between a LR demo vehicle and say a Honda or GMC |

My dealer here in Albany, NY has some sort of trails/course outback, but I have not heard of them having an event yet. Hope they do. Then again they might not invite me, I tend to avoid them too... LOL Looks like fun. -John |

Gosh I am so mad at myself for having to travel back to Md on Sunday. I was at Land Rover Greensboro all afternoon on Saturday, and Derrick the service tech invited me out to Sanford on Sunday. I was ready, and then I remembered I had to return back from the short holiday break today 12/01/01. It's funny that that little Freelander made it back to Sanford on Sunday. I was at Land Rover Greensboro when the two guys returned (I think his name was Mike) and that little white Freelander took some weekend back and forth punishment. The window was stuck down when the two drivers returned, and Mike didn't want to drive it home Saturday evening. Derrick got the window unstuck, and on the back window was one of those cool looking G4 Challange stickers. I also took some pics of that Disco on 35's that's now parked in front of the centre. It's now forsale on consignment. I was told a pretty interesting story about that white Disco. I'm sure it will be forever and a year before it sells- Hell, Land Rover Greensboro is trying to sale the tires and rims for a grand- Well I was invited, and I really hate I couldn't attend now that I see pics posted- |

Carter - if it makes you feel any better I was helping out with an event at Paragon and the dealer had a new 2003 Rangie with 500 miles on the odo and sticker on the window. Paul - Do you recover vehicles in reverse often? |

Paul, did you get wood tugging that 110 out of the mud? LOL Glad to hear you had a good time, but it's not like when you are with us is it? Any chance you'll be making a trip up this way in December? |
