I just took delivery today of a '93 RR LWB after being Rover-less for 5 years (previously a '94 Disco and a '71 Series). I traded in a perfectly good '96 SAAB 9000. Please help!!!!! Am I crazy?! And its my only transport, too! Actually, this unit has had the air suspension replaced with OME HD coils, seems pretty solid with 120K kms on the clock, nothing major body wise (not perfect, so its good to go into the bush). Mechanically, all is well and amazing oil-tight. Any suggestions beyond what is already in the archives (and electric shock therapy)? Bill Ross Callander, ON CDN |

Your definatly not crazy, I would trade one hundred saabs for one rover. Put some fogs and driving lights on it and you are good to go man. |

Personally I like and had good luck with Saab.I finally sold my 89' 900s with 165k on the clock. It's an awesome Winter car and about as expensive to fix as a Rover if not less. But the Saab 9000 is a different animal indeed. Almost all the "Saab Stories" I heard concerned a 9000. I believe you made a good choice going with the Range Rover. However be sure to up the limit on your gas card! T- |

I have a '93 with 104K. Traded in a fairly new (but boring) Ford truck for it - never regretted it. A lot of things to fix here and there, but enjoy every day driving to work in it. |

You ARE crazy. I am(*) so why shouldn´t you. (*) To be more precise the RRC is my wife´s only transport - you see I let my wife drive it, relying on Lucas bringing my wife, the kid and several thousands of $$(**) from A to B and from B to A. While driving a small trusty Volkswagen (never missing a beat) myself. (**) maintenace, repairs, upgrades. |

I'd tend to think you're not crazy also since I got into a fully tricked 97-disco even while still owning a saggy 1989 range rover. Only problem with getting the disco was my wife won't let me get any other rangies, even though she likes them. pwc |

not crazy.. i recently bought a 1990 with 216k. Granted it has a 2000 4.0 under the hood, but everything else is OEM. Its as tight as new rover. Plus, Saabs arent any fun.. |

Thanks to all for the assurances that I am crazy (or was that I'm not really crazy?). Although I liked the idea of having both vehicles, in the world of $3.00 CDN/gal. I was told by SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) that I was not allowed to spend any more per month on automotive-related expenses they we already were. So given the choice, the SAAB has to go. For five years, I just couldn't get the Rover thing out of my blood as the suggestion was right, the SAAB just wasn't any fun in comparison. So now I'll take the weekend, begin the TLC process on the Rangie (despite the predicted -10C temps and snow) and see how far I get. |
