and what ever happened to slava,
giovanni with the 100$ hellas that are at pep boys for 59.95, and a rrc 3 spoke wheel for 180.00, this is a caring web community as i've seen so far, so why not the x-mas spirit viniman, were all here in our leaky rovers together,
Best wishes for the holidays and may a locker be found under the tree for both me and all others that have been good this past year!!! Winching someone out automatically makes one good!

no no you're missing the point, THats 180 for 1 count one wheel, ron i will take your set, but someone on the wanted board was looking for ONE wheel and giovanni had ONE for him for 180.00, and those hella's in canadian dollars,

You shouldn't have said anything Peter, it looks like Ron was willing to lower the price.

180 for one 3 spoke Rangie rim is too much.

I don't know who he is, but he sure pissed me off in the "for sale" section earlier. What a moron.

Ron i dont mind the deal you've got for me at all in fact i'm quite pleased, i cant wait to put my new tires on those so called ugly wheels! i think that they're great!!! And as far as the event in rovers, i didn's see it on the calander and have to finish putting a 125k btu heater in a friends wharehouse where he lives, so far this phila winter he's had no heat! just a kerosene heater and a 3000k sq ft open space with no heat, hahaha i dont know how he does it?
I'm still hoping that dean will get back to me and we'll be going to the pine barrens next weekend!
See you all later, off to an x-mas party with lots of food!
Peter.

Okay, in the spirit of fairness I wish to make it known to everyone that Giovanni just sent me an email with a pretty sincere apology for what went on in the "for sale" forum. I think he learned a pretty good lesson on what this site is all about so lets just laugh at everything that went on in that thread and give him a another chance in his future posts. I think we have all managed to piss everyone off around here from time to time. Did somebody say "boy scouts"?........... :)

I was never a Boy Scout. I was a Cub Scout, but then my parents changed Churches, and since my Scout troop met in the old Church, they told my parents that I couldn't come any more.

I hate the #$*%@ Scouts.

OTOH, it's good to have a target to vent on once in a while.

Too late, Giovanni is gone. Getting into a private pissing contest with the moderators is never advisable. Anger management class would be a better cause of action. Mr. DiBolla may continue to read the site, but will no longer be allowed to post.

There's a great website - Flame Warriors, http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame1.html, that talks about all the different personalities one runs into on the web.

One character is the Admin, and they comment:
"Admin is the janitor, the cop, the mayor, the judge and sometimes even the forum doctor who tends to Warriors injured in battle - in other words, Nanny on steroids. Because he runs the forum and sets the rules Admin has the power to pull the plug on any Warrior who gets a little too frisky... CAUTION: Admin is the most powerful of all Warriors and drawing him into direct battle invites almost certain defeat."

If you've never checked that website out, it is quite humorous (and sometimes disturbingly accurate).

I was going to give him another chance but I guess he really got into with Axle over email or something. Oh well, I guess we will have to find another source for Hellas.

The Flame Warriors site was most enjoyable (boy scout). I believe we all could be labeled with one or another of the descriptions. Not that I give a crap (evil clown).

I forgot to mentioned following my recent Mensa social we discussed the Flame Warriors website. All attending agreed it was quite educational, accurate and of great value to the web community at large (blowhard).

so, what's the going rate for a pair of used Hella 500's (the round ones)? My neighbor has 500's on his Discovery and wants to get rid of them. I don't want them, but told him I'd post a classified for him if he wanted. If they can be had new for about $75, should I tell him to be happy with max $35 per pair (he has 2 relatively new pairs on his mallcrawler)? Barely even worth the effort....

grazie

$75 is a typical price for the Hella 500 kit. You can find it for less some places. If he is taking them off the truck then the kit portion is lost, wiring harnses etc, so I'd guess $35 for the pair to be about tops.

Re: Mensa

LOL, I could not agree more. For obvious reasons am not in their little group. However I have a friend, "Crazy Peter" who is a member. He is a salt of the earth, partying, social butterfly! I believe he joined as a joke on them.

Well I feel that it is time to pipe up.

I feel shame... lots of it.
It was I who told Giovanni to dial up this site when I was on the local LR group site visiting and saw that he had some stuff to get rid of. Me Bad. Sorry for starting the pissing contest there Gandalf and others of the fellowship.

I just wanted everyone to get along and live in peace.

Sorry

But it was a very entertaining to read :)
I'll try to do better next time..

P.S. My RTE bumper looks kick ass on the 03 and during my visit to the steelership the "Land Ho" gained a few admirers.

Axel: The One-Man-Gestapo :)

You need to make a section of the site like the "window" but for people who have been kicked out. It could include a brief description of their crimes as well as a copy of the post(s) that doomed them. Might be funny to read and serve as a warning to would be dumb-asses. :)

Hey Ross, maybe you could stop at an accessory shop and take some photos of Hella 500 and 550 prices to fill the rest of the roll, cuz we NEED to see those RTE on the 03 photos quick!!! My RTE will be here in about 10 more days....but it's only going on a '99 D2 so not as exciting! But I did ask John to weld a set of limb risers rings on the corners and he surprised me when he said I was the first to ever ask for them!!

I'll have to echo my desires to see the RTE on the 03 photos!

Ross--you're going to be a bad influence on me! Our trucks look very similar (03 White Gold SEs), so I'll have a preview of what accessories look like before I consider them. :)

HEHE...my '99 D2 is white gold too!

I'm also trying to talk John into developing a rear bumper for the D2. He says he is considering it, but has such volume in his existing products that starting a new one isn't easy. I think he just needs to know that there is a market....so if you think you'd be interested, let him know!

Now, how the hell do I get a 4.6 to drop into my '99 D2? I drove one for 3 weeks while my truck was at the dealer for work, and I loved the acceleration!
