Guys, Well, my 1992 Disco has the same 4 belt 3.5 V8i that was in the classic RR in NA. I was just wondering if anyone can give me the alternator´s part number (80 Ah), and or any Delco, Bosch...higher amperage upgrade. Thanks in advance, Nadim |

On my '91 RRC I went with the 100 amp OEM from a 4.0. I'm not sure if there was a different pulley involved or not but it works a lot better than the original due to the aux. lights and Stereo. |

The main problem with Lucas alternators is they're Lucas and the diodes are too small. Have a rebuild shop put in bigger diodes and rebuild anything else that needs it. Also, make sure your battery is in good shape. A marginal battery that requires constant charging form the alternator will also shorten the life of a standard Lucas alt. Bigger diodes will help. |
