I went to Uhwarrie this weekend with a buddy of mine in his CJ-7. We did Dickey Bell and Falls Dam. It looked like my stock disco could make falls dam with out much problem, but can a stock disco run dickey bell or any of the other medium trails? |

Yes I don't see why it couldn't. |

Will, I think you can make it if it isn't wet. If it is wet - avoid the harder trails or you will be looking at some body damage. The problem is sliding into banks/roots/rocks on tight off camber trails which Uwharrie has (especially Dickey Bell). There are also some spots on the harder trails which might challenge you in the clearance dept., but most have cut-arounds. |

Oh - yeah - I notice you didn't specify D1 or D2 - my comments apply to a stock D1. Not so sure about a D2 since it will be wider/longer with different approach and departure angle and possibly no cdl. Also, one other word of advice - make sure you have at least a basic recovery kit and above all good front and rear recovery points. |

Yeah, dry and you should be OK. Wet, and that place takes on a whole new personality! |

I will tell you one thing: Take the running boards off!!! Mine ate a big rock, and that was not cool. I would suggest (for a D1) to take all of that plastic crap off the front. It increases your approach angle like crazy, and if your crafty enough, take the rear endcaps off. I've been in a few situations where the endcaps would have been taken off by a rock. BTW, there is a trail run this weekend. I'm gonna be there as well as many others. Make sure you got front and rear recovery points, and a good attitude! See ya on the trails! Max T. |

Did those trails a number of times when I lived in NC. At the time my D2 was stock as they come. I had no problems at all. Just take your time. BW |

I ran my 109 with a lifted RRC (Will Bobbit) along with a Stock TJ. IMO, a stock disco could take it. We ran Wolf Den (woopie!), Falls dam, and the little bit of Dickey Bell that goes to Rocky Mountain and to Slab Pile. The stock TJ got through, it needed some weight on the front a few times but did extremely well considering guys with 33s and big lifts where only there. We used spotters a lot on Dutch John, and that is why we didn't have a lot of trouble. It took a long time, but we came out with no damage. But of course that is all irrelevant since Uhwarrie closes today . Max T. Come join us when it opens again!! |

Hey guys, I might be able to put together a trail ride at Raven Knob...It is a Boy Scout Camp about 15 minutes away from Mount Airy NC. There are 3,200 acres with logging roads all over. Most of them aren't to bad to drive and can be done with a stocker. But they are fun to drive, and the scenery is pretty. Does anyone have any intrest? Will |
