Hello, all. I bought my Disco, used, eight months ago from a private party. I was curious to see what repairs and service were done at LR. I called three local dealerships this week and gave them my Vin#. Each one asked if I bought my Disco new from them. Of course, I lied and said yes. They still wouldn't give me the history of my vehicle. Any suggestions? |

My experience is that they won't give the vehicle history over the phone. I had to go to the dealership to have them run the VIN#. The history is just the recorded work done by Land Rover. When we were shopping for a used Disco, we had the service department run about 5 history reports. It was good to know that some major problems with the vehicle were fixed by previous owner, hopefully never to happen again. |

They said they had some repairs/service done by the dealers but then used their local shop because of cost. I don't think carfax gives the repair and service records. They list things like inspection dates and miles, dates of title changes, and what the vehicle was registered as, i.e fleet vehicle. My Disco runs fine but was curious to the history of it. |

I thought Carfax might have listed the dealer that took original ownership and therefore gave you some insight into where it might have been serviced. It sounds like the previous owner told you that though. |
