Cool! I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Volvos. (In fact, traded in a Volvo for the Land Rover.)

Do you think they would trade my 740 and my 240 even up for that pup? I really like Volvo's and my heart jumped a bit when I saw that image load.

Is it just me or is there only two lugs on that eight lug wheel?

Another 'is it just me' or is the differential housing a bit higher than wheel-center?

Erik, yes, the diff housing is quite a bit higher, those are portal axles.

My wife just sold her V90 big-ass Volvo - I won't say what she bought in its place.

I don't know about the other models in the line, but I found the sightlines to be really poor in the Volvo. Seemed to be very small (height-wise) windows and plenty of blind-spots.

Don't they run the Dakar at night? It looks like the Swedes still need to add a little kit to the package. Like some underbody protection for one...

Do you think that the portals are from the Volvo C303 they just retired? How big are those tires? and yes, I do think it looks bad ass.

No! It is not a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan with sponge-like suspension and automatic side doors, and I resent that you would think that...

d'oh!

Al, they probably put the wheels on just for the photo and couldn't be bothered putting on, or didn't have, all 32 nuts.

Bruce.

PS - I thought Volvo's were for old Lady's to drive on Sunday. :)
