i heard this on NPR on the way into work this morning. got my email and found mail from nat. geo. which i subscribe to, giving me a link to this story. i find it amazing and though some of you all might be interested.

Saw that on the tube this morning. Probably the most famous National Geographic cover ever. I didn't know until the recent unpleasantness she was Afghani.

Kinda neat....
Time hasn't been kind to her, tho'.... I like the old pic, myself... 'course, I like old pics of myself better than recent ones, too...
