OK Dwebers!
I need to transport a car (non-running) from Mass to NYC...I'm not sure if I'll have time to go get it with my Rover, so I'm looking for options...any one with a trailer?

Carl

I was waiting to get busted by you! How the hell are you? I bought a 1972 MGB Mark III roadster. Ready for a full restoration. It will be my long term project.

Carl,

Glad to hear you found one to play with...and sorry I'm not headed up that way anytime soon w/ my trailer. If John can't hook you up and all else fails...stop by uhaul. I did this on occaision before I bought my trailer and it's not too expensive. You can easily pull it with your Disco and the uhaul car trailers have built in hydraulic trailer brakes. All you'll need to do is have them wire up the lights....not a big deal. Good luck with your new toy !!!

Thanks guys.
No problem Tod, and I'm still buying you a beer for your last offer the next time I'm in Philly (or your in NYC)

Glenn..??!! WHAT DID YOU DO????

John, your right ...we're sick!
My first car was a 78 MGB red..loved that little thing..then by the end of high school I sold it to my best friend and bought an 77 Alfa Spider...loved that one too, but the Alfa made me realize how easy British cars are to keep. (yea I know, sick misunderstandings about cars at an early age, what do you think let me here)

Went through life Lucas-less untill I could aford the Brit of my dreams, my Landy (this is before I saw that Playboy issue a few months back...sorry wrong topic).

Well, I've wanted to do a full car restoration and I sold my Jeep...and I found this B.

John, the car is being stored in a storage locker..and I have to get it out of there by Jan 10, I was going to get it myself, but my wife will need the my truck six days a week untill after Feb. ...I can use it for a Sunday ride, but I wasn't looking forward to going alone...can you help? ...Glenn you too if your up for a ride.

Carl

John / Glenn, (hmmmmm, now why does that name combination sound familiar? :) )

If my parents were not going to be up the week of Christmas, I would help with the water heater install and the trip to MA. :) I know nothing about installing water heaters, but I give great Chair Technical Support and Beer Cooler Support......... :)

Water heater?? I'll help with that one too John. i've had my share of heater installs.

The car is in Bolton Mass...not far from Framingham...(I think)

Would you guys be thinking a day trip? Perhaps a Sunday? Like I said, I have to pick it up before Jan 10...any days good for you?

Carl,

Thanks for the offer to help with the heater install. Looks more like a weekend trip. I'm guessing it's about 5 hours away. Although, we could probably make it a day trip. Is the car running?

Greg,
Also, thanks for the offer to help. I think you want to give a hand because I told Glenn he can use my Real Doll....ahhhh, that's it right???

Let's coordinate something.

Carl,

There was a time in the late '70's that I lusted for an MGB. My bro, you might remember him, the gay boyscout? LOL! Anyway, he did a ground-up restoration on a 1953 MG-TD. Beautiful car, and for a kid he did a credible job on it. We used to whip around on the country roads in that thing. I cried when he sold it to buy a new 1972 Fiat. ACK!

I hope you enjoy your new toy, and Merry Christmas to YOU!

Karen :)

Karen,
a 53 TD ....now that would be a fun project!

John,
The car is not running, and I think 4 to 5 hours each way is about right. I don't mind a weekend trip, but Lucy needs my truck on Saturdays...If we did an overnight, we could crash my folks place in RI. Do you have a trailer?

Can't we just put it on top of John's roof rack?
