Ooooooooo Blake, bummer. My hubby gets his out, all four, on Monday. How many did you have out, and how bad is it?? You need some good meds. I finally got some goodies yesterday and BOY is my life changed! Hope you get over this soon.

I had to get two vasectomies. First one didn't take. I'm kinda proud of that.

Blake, hope they drugged ya up real good. I had mine out and my parents had driven me (I think I was 16 or so) When they wheeled me out in the wheelchair afterwards I was like, "Hey guuys, wuddar youuuuuuuu doinn heeeerre?" I still get reminded of that from time to time. It only sucked for a day or so.. stitch removal was a breeze.. Later.. RS

My darling hubby is the product of a failed first vasectomy. Thank god for ineptitude! His daddy had it re-done, too. My hubby is an ace swimmer, LOL!

Just my wisdom teeth story. I had all four pulled at one time. The bad thing was, mine were impacked. To add to the fire of pain I was in. 3 days later I got dry sockets. NO FUN. Hope you get better faster then I did Blake.

Eeeek!!! On two counts:
1) I was told a year and a half ago I need to have my two remaining right wisdom teeth removed. (Don't know why I only had the two left ones removed when I was a teen - maybe because when they came to wake me up in recovery room, I was gone? They finally found me standing in a linen closet.) Anyway, I have to take antibiotics just to get my teeth cleaned, and (stupidly, I know) I'm a chicken and have been avoiding getting it taken care of.

2) No failed vasectomy stories, please. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that scares me more than that ....

Kim :)

Travis, 3 out of 4 of mine were impacted as well.. didn't get the dry sockets though. I just stayed messed up on the pain meds for a couple of days and it was over with. No big deal for me. Hope Blake wakes up from his drunken haze to realize it's all over with:)

Dang.... I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out while I was in boot camp at Parris Island. Got to march back to the barracks, and fall in with everyone else to go out and spend the afternoon marching around the grinder, etc.....

Jeez, what memories......

Karen

Did you get the pink ones. I cant remember what the were but the were great. They gave me those after I got kicked. I FELT NOTHING. The did make me sleepy, I was nodding off while riding, but I did keep a leg on either side and my mind in the middle

Tom,

I didn't tell my own gristly impacted wisdom teeth removal tale, but it was a nasty bit o' bizness. I DO recall I wasn't tolerating the codeine well, and I've been on some SERIOUS amounts of codeine again this week. Between the halucinations and the psychotic dreams, I think I'll give it a pass from now on. Yuck.

When I had all mine removed years ago, the dentist told me to take Zbec, a vitamin high in Zinc. It is what inables the body to heal. He had me double up on the daily vitamin dose, so it loads your body up with it for about 2 weeks before they're removed. Sure enough, healed within about 3 days. You won't forget it for a long time, cotton chewin, oozing neat stuff, good excuse to drool in your sleep kinda day. I lived on Carnation Instant Breakfast till I was man enough to chew again. After it's all healed up, you'll be glad they're all out.

Yep, had mine taken out when I was active as well. Had all four done at once. They were impacted, and part of my jaw bone was chisled away to get them out. All in all it wasn't bad. Of course, I'm not as tough as Leslie. They gave me three days off and a week of no PT.

But Greg, they didn't think Leslie would catch on that he should have time off, what with his name and all....LOL! Sorry Leslie, I'd never have thought of it, but you pointed it out that one time.....heehee...nothing but coal for me after that one....

Karen, so bad.... ;)

Blake, how are you feeling? David got his teeth out today and we're in the first phases of recovery. So far he's down but not out. I hope he'll be able to have some Christmas dinner in a couple of days.

I'm almost back to normail
by the 2nd day i wrote the whole thing off as being a piece of cake that i couldn't eat yet.

and thursday they'll finish with everything
and i'll be on my way to normal

Just make sure that if they hurt on the 3-5 day worse
go to the denist cuz u've gotten dry sockets
ussually always 3-5 days and i think always on the bottom.

"I'm almost back to normail " Remember Blake, I've met you, and I know that this will never be true, you'll never be normail(or as I like to spell it "normal") again:)Glad to hear you're on your way back.. Peace, and Merry Christmas.. Robert

Blake,

Glad to hear you're over the fun. We went back to the Endodontist today because we felt things were not going as well as they should have been. Ends up the doc said it was a particularly gnarly procedure and HE was relieved things were going as well as they were! I expect by the weekend David should be fighting fit.
