I am on a college budget and I decided to go after a 2000 disco, it has ace, leather, cold package. I must say I never thought I would own one of these, I figured they are ugly, prone to tipping, over priced and just plain junky. I had a friend who had a 98 Sd disco(i think that model and year) and it had more problems than jaguar. I was shopping for Audi a6,volvo s80 and jeep grand cherokee 5.9 before I purchased the rover. I never had a desire to look at one but, when I was at the dealer looking at Audi's and I just decided to take a peak for the hell of it, I don't know if it was the price, color or what, but I was instantly in love! Well, I test drove it and my initial thoughts vanished instantly, it was great! Now I have had it for less than 48 hrs, and have been constantly peeking out the kitchen window, just to admire it's rugged good looks and bold stance. I will never bad mouth Land Rover again, they make the best, most rugged trucks around, it just took the purchase of 2000 disco to realize that. I love mine and I will be a Land Rover owner for life. - Evan

p.s. god only knows what this baby will do in the rough stuff! :D

Well I don't know who Frank is but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and take that as a joke, since he really knows nothing about my economic background.

Anyway, the thing that makes no sense is all the spoiled comments I get over my 98 Disco, which cost less than most of these guy's Exploders, Tahoes and Accords. I'm sure Blake and "the Wills" will probablly agree with me on that.

Good luck with the truck Evan.

Carter, I'm guessing it was just a little holiday gonad bustin'. Even though you DO drive that $80K Toyota Land Rover Cruiser thing.

Karen ;)

Carter

Give it up. You've slipped up. You can't be a spoiled rich kid you went to public school!!! Just kidding, I've heard the system is much better in B.R. than here in N.O.

I am going to speak up for the supposedly rich spoiled kids since I launched the first salvo in jest. I always wanted to be one but never had the chance. As long as you don't end up in jail and don't get involved in an Enron situation later in life than you can drive a Rolls for all I care! (but please not in the salty winter conditions). To somehow be able to balance a Disco payment, school, work and the world in general is a great feat. Also going to a CC is fine, it's a great start and don't let anyone tell you different. Have a great holiday staring at your Rover but beware if you start talking to it, it can happen.

I'll chime in, too! CC was a GREAT place of learning for me. MUCH better than my university experience. I met my DH there, and he agrees about the quality of the classes at our CC vs. our university. FWIW.

Go ahead, hug your Rover this Christmas, you've earned it!

Karen :)

What's "DH" stand for?? "Designated Husband"?

KJ

Uh, could be Alan, but I *meant* darling husband :) Designated is more of a lasso-in' kind of thing I think. Like on Sadie Hawkins Day.

How's the Christmas Eve weather in the Great White North? Y'all have your tukes on?

Karen :)

LOL...not being married, I'm not priviledged to the little couples acronyms...but wasn't too sure after KJ's G-spot thread. Figured, everything's open season. I thought she was making some kind of baseball analogy. :)

Ya it suddenly kinda got cold here. Temperatures have been around -20 to - 15 C here. Everything looks really beautiful but it's cold...so got toques, mitts, long johns...and that's just what my dog wears!

Snowie,

The word "chick" is fine by me, as long as it isn't preceeded by the word "Richmond".

Alan, baseball analogy, eh? Well, I'd say YOU are the DH in that case, LOL! As for "G" threads, every time someone says "G-Wagon" I think of G-Spot. Can't help it, guess it's a "Chick Thing"! LOL!
