It's raining/freezing rain/sleeting here now, had a half inch of snow overnite, and it's still there with this crap coming down now freezing into it....and they are calling for this to change to snow in about an hour, and we are to get 5-8 inches by midnight....we shall see....

Merry Christmas to all......

At 11am its very windy with a light dusting of snow here in NW CT. The NWS is predicting 10-20 inches of accumlation before it turns to light snow showers after midnight. To drop that much snow in a little over twelve hours, this storm is going to have to be pretty severe!

We had a light dusting of snow overnight. It's been raining since then. The NWS is calling for this to change over to snow later. We might have 2"-4" by the time all is said and done.

Happy Holidays to all...

Eastern Pa update. Changed over to snow here around noon, temps dropped from 34 to 30 degrees, we have about 2" accumulated now with the first inch all sleet/freezing rain on top of last nights snow. Gonna be NASTY when it freezes with the snow on top!

Okay, I know this may not qualify as "real" snow, but for someone that grew up in New Orleans I'm still calling this a "white Christmas"!

And yes, I've spent winters in Helena, MT, Deer Valley, UT, Beaver Creek, CO, Scandia, MN, MD/VA/DC, White Mountains of NH plus many others, so I do know what a REAL white Christmas can look like! BTW, this is what Christmas looked like this morning fifteen miles south of Knoxville, TN.

On the TN-VA line, we have very little.... 1/4", maybe.... a chill wind, tho', the snow is going sideways.... not diagonally, but completely horizontal....

Gonna go tuck my head under the covers....

Damn I just thought of something, there is an outdoors store (Lewis and Clark Outfitters) up in Fayetteville Arkansas that gives you all your money back on any purchases made between two certain dates earlier in the holiday season IF it snows 2 inches on Christmas day. I know it was snowing up there Christmas eve and they were still calling for more. Maybe some people got some free Cannondales out of the deal.

This is funny. Here in Salt Lake, all the weather ding-dongs on ALL channels said: "No white Christmas!" We have not had our normal snowfall in the valley and there is zero snow on the ground.

Wake up at 5:45AM to take the kids to look at Santas goodies under the tree and there was a fresh 2" or so on the ground. Light snow and flurries all day long. Just the way I like it too: it melted off the streets by days end.

Merry Christmas

Curtis

Hey Danno, we got about 8" here on the east side. We seem to be getting a little lake effect snow now.:( Drove down to Canton and 271 and Rt 8 were littered with vehicles in gullies and medians. The Disco handled it superbly!

Here in Albany, NY we got around 24". I will try to post some pix tomorrow. It blew so hard some of the drifts were 4 to 5 feet high! My sister in law's exploder, which sat in the driveway all night had snow up to the bottom of the windows. Spent all AM with the snow shovel and blower. I'm gonna have a beer and go to bed!

Well, for those who care, I loaded a six pack into the Disco and went to the beach for a swim, then to a friends for a pool party. It was 37 damn degrees and I was sweating my nuts off from a 3 hour motorbike ride back from down south from seeing mates. Its just not the same. Gimmee snow any day.

Dag John, you could have lost those little guys in snow that deep, LOL! Cute picture of them.

Peter, I could have done without knowing that.....I hate winter, but today was a BEAUTIFUL day, in the high '50's, maybe warmer, but that's Farenheit!

This was a picture my Dad took on Christmas day in Malvern, PA. The date on the photo is wrong as he was using the new digital camera I gave him.

Okay, so I cropped the date off. We ended up getting about 6 inches of snow that day. I'm about 20 miles west of Philly. And, no snow blower here, I had to shovel that damn drive 3 times that day. :)

Snow is mostly melted now though as we hit a high of around 53 degrees yesterday.

Sorry Greg, but you do look like a weenie with ear muffs!

Even my three year old, in snow over his head, knows better.

LOL! :)

By the way, we're currently getting about a 1/2 inch of ice, that should be covered by 4 to 8" of snow by tomorrow.

LOL............. You guys are too much. The ear muffs were a gift from a relative in Texas. Go figure. They did keep my ears nice and toasty warm while shoveling though.

Karen, no ear pics, but I'll leave the pointy part a mystery for you.......... :)

Pssst ........ Now that's a first for me. I know people are into all sorts of kinky fetishes, but I never pegged Karen for an ear fetish kinda gal...............
