Hey guys and gals, Went wheeling yesterday and on way home wheel not centered on column anymore. Nothing bent under the truck, tie rods all ok etc., think teeth may have slipped somewhere~~~. Where's the easiest place to adjust it back? Thanks! Hunter Louisville, KY 95 Disco |

I've got the same issue. Went wheelin and now either the alignment is off or just the actual steering wheel is off. Everything under the truck seems straight. I did have a bent trailing link that had been like that for a while. I fixed the link but that didnt help. Does anyone here know what me and Hunter need to do? Thanks, Dan 98 disco, Portland OR |

steering wheel will become off-center when the truck is lifted (with front wheels straight) and no adjustment to drag link was made. if yours is not, consider loose splined joint on the steering shaft as a probable cause. i've had the joint that is nearest to the steering box loosen up a number of times - and i may have had it tightened up a spline off the center. Note that the joint may not feel loose - if it is jammed on the next spline. peter |
