Anyone have these? I just bought them from ebay and they are getting shipped from England, but am curious if anyone has any clue of the quality. The picture looked neat and I need some more stuff for the desk. These are made by Halsall.

I have the trek Disco. You will notice that it is a D1 and not a series II like it states. Scale is about 1:32. Quality is not bad but not great either (brush bar and roof rack) |

Glenn, I just emailed them to you. The guy I bought them from on ebay is really nice. I've been talking to him for a little while this afternoon. He has a 300 tdi disco. I paid around 9 pounds for each and 6 pounds for shipping. The ones on ebay are auctions, so you could get them cheaper or for more. US dollars is about 1 dollar to 0.69 pounds I think. Greg Thanks for the info. Chris. Sounds like they will be fun to look at on my desk, but not Art Museum detail quality. Still looks cool. Greg |

If you want really detailed quality ones, look at Hart or Hartsmith models. They are a lot more expensive but also more detailed. They run from 35 pounds and up...wayyy, up. http://www.landcraft4x4.co.uk/home.html |

Does anyone recall the thread of a little boy that had made model landrovers with scrap aluminum? It was an interesting story and nice looking model. |

I got one of those while I was in college and used it in part of an architecture project. I actually designed a rover dealership and I used the model to draft elevations of a disco and then build a larger scale model from foam core. The proportions are all wrong on the models and it came out more as I scaled it up. Too low and too long. My model looked funny but my project was neat. Wish I had pics of that dealership. LRNA would have paid big bucks. Safari motif on the inside structuraly designed so that it had a test course on the roof! Steep climbs and descents to get up and down. sigh... |

Check "Eagle Collectibles" on the Web, nice quality and a bit nicer for about the same money. You absolutely get what you pay for in diecast models. I have a Series III 109 1:18, a Series I 1:64, a 1:32 RR IRE Police Unit, a Special Edition Disco and a FreeLander. It's a geeky little habit for sure but they are fun to have around on a desk, workbench ect. |

It's not GEEKY! I've got a 1:18 Freelander, a 1:43 Disco and two 1:64 Rovers on my desk. As well as a 1:18 Mercedes 500SL Gullwing and a 1:64 Ferrari 456GT!!
Okay, it's geeky. But fun. One of my colleagues has John Deere tractors in his office...so I wanted Rovers! But I need a 1:18 DISCO! |

Sus- Not geeky?, I hardly ever tell my friends I have them for fear of being shunned! When I have mentioned them they just roll their eyes and say "Oh, that's nice". In fact I never mentioned it here before because I thought you guys were too serious, imagine that? I guess I am experiencing a diecast "coming out", I do feel much better now. Thanks for bonding. |

Here's a pic of the 1:43 model I bought at the MAR. I strategically placed it on my desk top waterfall.
