Does anyone know if this base along with Thules 930 ski rack will fit on my Disco II with rear tire? |

I run the 931 swing-away base with the 927 fork mount module on my D2 and I had to weld on a 6 inch extension for it to clear my spare. You'll probably still have to extend the 922 further. Steve

I know this is for a Thule, but I ran into the same problem with the Yakima hitch rack. I went with an 8" hitch extension and a hitch stabilizer. Just an FYI, but I couldn't find a hitch stabilzer that would work with any Landrover vehicle so I ended up designing and fabricating my own. If you want to see a pix of the stabilizer let me know and I'll take some pix of it tonight. Al |

Steve, Thanks for the picture! You answered a question I had been wondering myself. Based on what I read from Thule's website, the 922 Space Station Base is extended 4" over the 921 to clear spare tires. It is difficult to judge from your picture, but it looks like the 922 might be able to clear the spare tire. If not, it would probably need a small addition (2") in length. http://www.thuleracks.com/thule/product.asp?dept_id=8&sku=922 -ema |

I measured my hitch to the tire and it looks to be about 12". I think the 922 allows for 16". It "should" work. Thanks everybody |
