I have searched the archives and read dozens of threads. That's why I'm posting this, there is a ton of conflicting info and I'm easily confused.:)

I don't want to cut the Disco just yet. I am not worried about gearing for the time being.

On a 1996 Discovery I with OME MD, I think I can fit 245/75R16 w/o trimming.

Can I fit 235/85 w/o trimming?

Thanks.

Generally, you cant fit anything other than stock size w/o trimming .However, you can push out your rear fenders ~ 1 inch....look under Tech, i think it says how to do it there.....

Joe, you don't have to trim, just move the fender out a bit with a mending brace...

I'm not sure about the 235/85s but if it does rub just move the fender a bit...

One more thing, I think it also depends on what brand tire you use...for example the BFG ATs are very "square" on the edges... just a thought.

I will be running Goodyear MT/R's, if it matters. I'll look up that article right now, thanks!

Yeah, the article is called "rear fender relocation" if I wasn't so lazy I would give you a link.

235s WILL rub unless you do something (either triming or bending it out) but look and perform great, I think they are the perfect size to use w/ a 2 inch lift.
