For some reason I decided to go against the grain and buy this 01 Disco. I know nothing at all about them other than it felt like a tough lil shit and I'm a glutton for pain. (911 owner) I do all my own wrenchin and I have a quick question for y'all. When the motor is cold, 4.0L, it sounds a little deisely. When warm it purrs like a kitten. It is a very minute noise, but I know motors and I know it could get very un-minute as soon as the warranty is out. Any opinions? rj |

Congrats! Hard to say on the noise. These things aren't immune to strange noise and if it's cold that's another issue. Take a look at the valve job thread too (not that I think that's the issue) |

Welcome to the club!! As a fellow 911 engine owner (actually 914-6 w/'77 911S 2.7 engine) it's nice to know that others are out there (misery loves company). What year 911? GregH |
