I need a source for 2" hitch receivers in bare steel. Any ideas? Local supplier doesn't have any, and buying the material is out because I only need three right now.

I don't know excatly what you are saying you want but I used to work at a travel trailer dealership and there was a GIANT pile of old class III hitches out back in the yard.

You may want to check a local farm store like country general or Big R, If you are hard up a local hitch shop should have some but they tend to charge about twice what you would pay else where.

Greg,
You might want to check with any metal fabricating shop in your area. The local one I deal with has them in bare steel for sale, but I don't know how much they sell them for.

Any steel shop will sell you some square 2" bar. Figure about 50 cents a pound.

Thanks guys. The material has to be seamless, or the hitch won't fit into the receiver. Cost for 24'(min length) is about $120 locally, and I need three receivers, sop that's not an economical choice. I found some at my local Northern Tools. They were powder coated, but I had them sandblasted. Thanks for all of your input though.
