I leave for New York tommorow morning from Indiana. In my 1995 Discovery Series I, My SRS Airbag Light is on and the dealer cant clear the code anymore. (Harness is Bad). Is there anyway to access the bulb safely and easily. I pulled the console surrounding the gauges and there are about four screws if I undo them am I there? or is it protected so I cant access it? Right now I have the good old electrical tape treatment on it. Is that the best I can do? This is urgent so if you have a definite answer call me ASAP - Warren Weiss - (317)514-1078 - Cell. Or (317) 844-9116 - Home. Thank you very much to anyone that can help. |

Warren .. Dude! Relax, its just a light. I've been basking in the warm glow of my SRS and ABS lights for the last 9 months. I'd say just use the tape if the light annoys you. BTW, I have the same codes as you on the SRS.
Good luck! Keep us posted if you find a harness fix. |

I have a 95 with a bad harness too. This might help a little - my LR mechanic says the fault code says there's a short in an in-line resistor. If one knew where to look, they could cut the harness open and replace the resistor. He has never cut on open, however. Replacing the harness will cost $1000 so I'm getting used to the red light. Per my factory manual, it looks like a chore to get the tach out to pull the bulb. It ought to burn out in another year or so! |
