95 disco, just put a OME HD's in front and OME EHD's in the rear. Im getting a bad vibe when im coasting, not accelerating or decelerating at any speed above 60 mph. Also also a vibe between 76-79. Im thinking that it is not a drive shaft problem but an input shaft and bearing problem in the transfer case. Am I making a correct assumption? Also since the lift, the normal clunck when switching from P to R or D to R seems to be getting a lot worse. And last but not least since the lift when the auto downshifts from 2nd to 1st is very very hard. So im wondering if this is all transfer case related.

Look at the U-joint at the T-case side of front driveshaft. I bet it is shot or will be soon. Drop the Fr. Dr. Shaft and I am 80% sure your probs will be gone.

Based on your post "bad vibe when im coasting, not accelerating or decelerating at any speed above 60 mph", and your discription of clunking...I would say that your trans case is the culprit. The front driveshaft is probably shaking your trans case and wearing it out quickly.

Could be a worn u-joint or just the new angles from the lift. If you go to Tom Woods www.4xshaft.com there are diagrams of what the ujoint angles should be with the front driveshaft. Buy an inclinometer($10) and check the angles.

You may want to consider a DC driveshaft, and there is also a diagram of those setup angles as well.

FWIW:

95 disco. New transfer case (rebuild by Ashcroft). New u-joints and roto-flex.

Installed OME HD (PS) springs all around. Subtle vibration when coasting at 50kph going downhill. It disappeared 3 months after the spring install.

I always assumed it was the new angle that was giving me the problem. A small amount of spring settling corrected it.
